1. Locate a flat, dry area near the water. The best setup position will also make launching easy. Never
drag product as damage may occur.
2. Unfold product completely and locate Side Tube Valves [1]. To help future storage, closely note original
folding & packaging method. Remove each valve cap and confirm valve is in inflate (1-way airflow)
position. See HR valve operation, C.
3. Insert air pump hose with proper valve fitting into either Side Tube Valve [1]. Use pump to inflate side
tube to Working Pressure as shown in Chart 1. Check for proper pressure using gauge (manometer).
Repeat this step to inflate and check the other Side Tube Valve [1]. Replace valve caps.
4. Repeat step 3 instructions to inflate Floor [2] to proper Working Pressure shown in Chart 1. Cirrus
Ultralight models incorporate a high-pressure dropstitch floor for ultimate performance. While it is
possible to operate vessel confidently with floor at as little as 4.0psi, inflate to full working pressure for
maximum stiffness and performance.
5. Inflate Seat [3] cushion to desired firmness and secure by closing Twist-Lock valve. Back strain can be
eased by releasing or adding small amounts of pressure. See Twist-Lock valve operation, D.
6. Position seat in cockpit according to desired use. For solo paddler, seat should be positioned just
aft of center handles & molle plates. Seat has Velcro patches which help align cushion on cockpit floor.
Attach seat hooks to seat rings on side tubes (forward of the seat) and adjust tension. Backrest should
position users in comfortable, but upright position. Move seat cushion and adjust backrest to alter
legroom or boat trim.
7. Cirrus Ultralight has 1 circular floor drain positioned at the rear of the boat. Confirm drain is closed
before setting out. For normal drainage, set boat on incline with stern lowest. Remove drain cap at rear of
boat and allow water to drain astern. Lift bow to assist drainage if necessary.
8. Install footrest by placing it onto the Velcro floor strips with raised block toward front of boat, farthest
from paddler. While underway, proper footrest position leaves the paddlers legs slightly bent with his/ her
heels braced on the footrest block. Position can be easily adjusted for comfort.
9. Install fin. This product uses a quick-release fin system that requires no tools for installation.
a. Roll boat over to expose the bottom. Fin box is positioned near stern (rear).
b. Orient fin angled toward the rear of the boat. Slide fin into center slot in fin box, pressing
down and pulling back on fin until it engages box (See F). Pull until fin is seated and hole in
finbox is open.
c. Quick-release pin is attached to fin by rope lanyard. Insert quick-release pin through hole in
finbox until it snaps into place (See G). Check to confirm fin is secure.
d. Reverse steps to remove fin.
10. To launch kayak, lift product completely and place in water. Never drag product as damage may
occur.
