1.1 Use according to intended purpose
Governed by various input signals, the cruise control function influences
the engine performance.
The Pedal Interface II cruise control function is intended for use as fol-
lows on flat or uphill roads, to regulate the vehicle speed (faster than ap-
prox. 30 km/h) to a value determined by the driver, without pushing the
accelerator pedal.
On downhill roads the above function can be used as described only if
the braking effect of the engine is sufficient to slow down the vehicle
when the accelerator pedal is eased back.
Governed by various input signals, the variable road speed limit function
influences the engine performance.
Using the variable road speed limit function, the driver may set an idivi-
dual speed limit (faster than 30 km/h) that cannot be overridden by pus-
hing the accelerator pedal.
Use other than as intended can lead to injury to the
driver or third parties or damage to property or the
environment.
For this reason the product must be used only according
to the intended purpose.

an adverse influence on its safety. This can lead to death,
serious or slight injury to the driver or third parties or da-
