Feature description
The PIA has 2 interfaces for connecting suitable output devices. A wire for
connection to the Pulsar is permanently connected to the device.
®
Any HART
manual control unit can be connected to the connection sockets.
An infrared adapter can be used to connect a PC to the infrared interface.
The PIA can be operated in different modes:
–
Communication mode
–
Data logger mode
In communication mode, the PIA is used as an interface for controlling the
Pulsar.
In data logger mode, the measurement and event data can be exported from
the Pulsar. The data is stored in the internal memory of the PIA. This data can
be exported using the PolySoft. No connection to the Pulsar is required for this.
Up to 100 data sets can be stored before the internal memory is overwritten.
3.3
Intended use
The Dräger Pulsar Interface Adapter is an adapter for communication of the
Dräger PolySoft or a HART® manual control unit with the devices in the Dräger
Pulsar 7000 Series. The PIA can be used to calibrate or configure the Pulsar
transmitter or receiver, or perform a zero calibration. The PIA acts as a data
medium for the data logger. The device is permitted to be operated in explosion-
hazard areas.
