ATTENTION
Damage to property due to wrong bandsaw blade. Using a wrong bandsaw blade can lead to premature
material fatigue and damage to the bandsaw.
▶ Select the correct bandsaw blade for the bandsaw and the material.
▶ Select the bandsaw bade with the correct tooth pitch (teeth per inch, tpi) for the material you are going
to cut: higher tpi for hard/thin materials; lower tpi for soft/thick materials.
▶ Use only bandsaw blades that are 0.5 mm thick. Thicker bandsaw blades mean more bending strain and
accelerated wear of the saw teeth.
▶ Select the bandsaw blade such that at least two saw teeth are in contact with the workpiece.
▶ Use only bandsaw blades with the dimensions 1140 mm × 12.5 mm × 0.5 mm.
Check the rubber ring for damage at regular intervals.
After every cutting operation, remove dust and chips from the bandsaw blade covers and the cutting guide
to prolong the useful life of the bandsaw.
To start the bandsaw, you must: First press the control switch and then press the safety switch and
hold both switches down at the same time.
The weight of the bandsaw is sufficient to make the cut. Do not apply additional pressure to the
bandsaw.
1. Replace the rubber ring when necessary. → page 12
2. Change the bandsaw blade when necessary. → page 9
3. Press and hold down the control switch.
4. Press and hold down the safety switch.
5. Position the bandsaw on the workpiece in such a way that as many saw teeth as possible act on the
workpiece.
6. Carry out the sawing work.
Guide the bandsaw in such a way that at least three saw teeth remain in the cut at all times if
possible.
7. Release the control switch.

these can attack the plastic parts.
Use a dry, clean cloth to clean the contacts of the product.
Care of the Liion batteries
Never use a battery with clogged air vents. Clean the air vents carefully using a dry, soft brush.
Avoid unnecessary exposure of the battery to dust and dirt. Never expose the battery to high levels of
moisture (e.g. by being dipped in water or left in the rain).
If a battery has been soaked by moisture, treat it as a damaged battery. Isolate it in a non-flammable
container and consult Hilti Service.
Keep the battery free of extraneous oil and grease. Do not permit dust or dirt to accumulate unnecessarily
on the battery. Clean the battery with a dry, soft brush or a clean, dry cloth. Do not use cleaning agents
containing silicone as these can attack the plastic parts.
Do not touch the contacts of the battery and do not remove the factory-applied grease from the contacts.
