To anchor the system, the two fixing brackets B must first be
fixed. Use at least 1 dowel per bracket.
Warning: If no joint plate (C or F) is already fitted to the feed
column, first fit the joint plate.
Follow the instructions below:
after defining the position of the cut or holes to be
made, draw the axis on which feed post A will be
positioned (figure 5A, 5B, 5C). The distance of the
column axis from the cut or holes is shown in the
following table:

choose a suitable dowel for the application with a
dowel thread of at least M12;
drill the hole for the dowel of a suitable size and fix the
dowel to the material;
position the two brackets B by inserting the screw of
the dowel into the slot of the base (I), without over-
tightening, to facilitate the insertion of the feed column
(A).
Insert the feed column into the two brackets and
secure it by screwing in the two locking crossbars (L).
When the feed post is in position, tighten the screws
of the fixing dowels firmly.
If necessary, adjust the 4 screws (M) so that the two
brackets are well seated.
Expansion dowels for fixing the CARDI brackets are available
as accessories.
Underhead cutting or drilling
Warning: under-head (ceiling) cutting or drilling
is prohibited. The system is not designed for
ceiling work.
Risk of the system falling
Cutting large or heavy sections
When making large openings, and in general when the weight
of the cut part exceeds 20 kg, pay special attention to the
detachment of the cut part at the end of the cut. It is always
advisable to set up a prop system to prevent the cut part from
falling suddenly at the end of the cut.
Warning: cutting or drilling sections of masonry
may cause the cut part to fall suddenly. Provide
a support system for the part to prevent it from
falling.
Danger of falling material
When making openings in a vertical surface, it is good
practice to first make the bottom cut of the opening. The
vertical sides are then cut and finally the top horizontal cut is
made (figure 6).
Feed handwheel
To move the carriage N along the column A, turn the feed
handwheel O (figure 7).

Locking mechanism
There is a locking system on the carriage that prevents it from
moving on the column (figure 7). The locking mechanism
must be engaged each time the tool is mounted, or the
system is moved to reposition it. To activate the locking
mechanism refer to figure 7A. Turn the handwheel to the
position where the mechanism can be activated and then
move the lever completely in the direction indicated by the
arrow.
Specific instructions for DV CD35
DV CD35 1500
The DV CD35-1500 is a dedicated holder for mounting CD35-
type diamond chain saws.
Mounting the sinking column
After fixing the main column, mount the sinking column (figure
9):
Align the holes P of the sinking column D with the
lateral pins Q of the joint plate.
Bring plate R closer and tighten by turning pins Q
Assembling the machine
Proceed as follows, referring to figure 8, which shows the
system fully assembled:
Remove the U-handle and splash guard from the
machine (figure 10);
Attach the machine to the fixing bracket, using the
three screws (figure 11);
Mount the mounting bracket to the sinking carriage by
aligning the pin with the hole; tighten the two screws
on either side of the carriage to secure the bracket
(figure 12).
Fitting the lock-on mechanism on the machine
For safety reasons, the CD35 electric chainsaw is supplied
with a switch without a lock-on mechanism, i.e. without the
possibility of keeping it switched on if it is not held.
When the machine is used on the Da Vinci system, it is
necessary to fit the lock-on mechanism, which keeps the
switch in the on position during cutting operations, leaving the
hands free to operate the carriage feed handwheels.
The assembly and operation of the mechanism is illustrated
in Figures 13A and 13B.
Cutting Operations
Cutting is performed using these steps (Figures 14A-D).
Step1: In the first stage, the blade is positioned perpendicular
to the surface and a guide cut 2 to 3 cm deep is made along
the entire length of the cut to be made (figure 14A).
Step 2: Operate the carriage on the sinking column as in
Figure 14B until the desired depth of penetration is achieved
in the material.
Step 3: Then, after loosening the locking screw, the sinking
column is swung so as to lengthen the cut, as in figure 14C.
Step 4: After re-tightening the locking screw, move the
carriage of the feed column in the direction of the cut by 15 to
20 cm and repeat step 2 (figure 14D).
Flush cutting
For flush cutting, there is the option of mounting the machine
below the sinking column. Refer to Figures 15A-D and follow
the instructions below.
