1.
Connec t the pump, manifold and outdoor unit with
hos e s .
NOTE: When the s i z e of the s e rv i c e port on the unit is
1/4", us e the s u pplied different diameter adapter.
2.
Chec k that the high s i de and low s i de v a lves of the
manifold are c l os e d.
3.
Ins t all the two batteries to the pump. (See "Ins t alling
or remov i ng battery c a rtridge" for the ins t allation
method.)
4.
Open the gas ballas t v a lv e .
5.
Turn the pump on. The LED lamp (RED) lights up
and the motor operates .
6.
Open the low s i de v a lv e and high s i de v a lv e of the
manifold.
7.
Clos e the gas ballas t v a lv e after 5 to 10 minutes .
NOTE: The gas ballas t v a lv e is us e d to remov e water
(v a pour) and c o ndens a ble gas (tak e n into the pump
during exhaust) from oil. If the condensable gas liquifies
and gets into oil, it can c a us e a dec r ease in lubric i ty,
and shorten the s e rv i c e life of the pump and s e al. When
the air enters from the gas ballast v a lve, the c o ndens e d
gas remains as it is , and is ex h aus t ed with air.
It is rec o mmended to warm up the pump before
operation bec a us e the more pump temperature is high,
the higher gas ballast efficiency can be obtained.
8.
When the remaining c a pac i ty of the battery (on
the Left port) becomes empty, the power s u pply
automatic a lly c h anges to the battery (on the Right
port). Remov e the battery L, and replace it with
a s p are battery. When the remaining c a pac i ty
of battery R bec o mes empty, the power s u pply
c h anges to the battery L again. The pump c a n be
operated for a long time by us i ng the c h arged s p are
batteries repeatedly for L-R-L-R.
WARNING:
The pump becomes hot during
operation and immediately after stopping. Do not
touch the area around pump while it is hot. Doing s o
may res u lt in burns or other ac c i dents .
NOTE: The motor may not operate when it is c o ld (5°C
or les s ) . In thes e c a s e s , bring the pump indoors and
allow it to warm up.
.
When the specified vacuum (refer to the manual
prov i ded by the air c o nditioner manufac t urer) is
reac h ed, c l os e the low s i de v a lv e of the manifold.

Airtightness test
There are no leak s if the pres s u re of the manifold does
not ris e for 5 minutes or more after leav i ng the pump and
manifold.
NOTE: When the battery remaining c a pac i ty bec o mes
low, LED lamp goes out and at the s a me time a long
alarm beep s t art s o unding. About two minutes later
the motor s t ops . And then alarm beep c h anges into a
repeated short-time interval beeping which notifies the
motor s t op and 30 s e c o nds later the beeping s t ops .
Howev e r, do not wait until the motor s t ops (or alarm
beep c h anges to a s h ort-time beeping), and ins t ead
c l os e the inlet v a lv e of the pump and the low pres s u re
s i de v a lv e of manifold.
Chec k that the pump is turned off, remov e the battery,
and c h arge it or replac e it with a s p are battery.

After finishing work, remove the battery and attach
the s u pplied c o v e r.
Transport and storage
Always drain your vacuum pump of all fluids before
s h ipping to prev e nt the damage of the c o ntainer.
•
Alway s c o v e r the intak e port with c a p to k e ep any
dus t from entering the pump.
•
Be s u re that the pump is k e pt in a horiz o ntal pos i tion.
•
The pump is s t ored in indoor ambient temperature
5°C – 40°C .
NOTICE:
When transporting, operating and
storing the pump, never place it on its side or
upside down. This may cause oil leakage from the
oil filler vent cap.
MAINTENANCE
CAUTION:
Always be sure that the pump is
switched off and the battery cartridge is removed
before attempting to perform inspection or
maintenance.
NOTICE:
Never use gasoline, benzine, thinner,
alcohol or the like. Discoloration, deformation or
cracks may result.
To maintain produc t
repairs, any other maintenance or adjustment should
be performed by Mak i ta Authoriz e d or Fac t ory Serv i c e
Centers , alway s us i ng Mak i ta replac e ment parts .
