Operating Instructions for
INS400L Pole Mount Laser with
Bracket Assembly
Description:
The Pole Mount Laser Level device is
provided with mounting bracket for
use with Integra® Pole Mount Assem-
blies.
The Pole Mount Laser provides align-
ment for the External CSF Drainage
and Monitoring Systems. These sys-
tems are used for draining cerebrospi-
nal fluid (CSF) from an intraventricu-
lar catheter or lumbar catheter to an
external ventricular drainage system.
Caution: refer to Instructions for Use
(IFU) for the External CSF Drainage
System prior to using the system or
leveling the device.
Indications:
The Pole Mount Laser with Level is in-
dicated for use with the Integra Pole
Mount Assemblies.
Contraindications:
This device is not designed, sold, or
intended for use other than indicated.
Instructions for Use:
1. Set up pole mount assembly as in-
structed in pole mount assembly
package insert.
2. Place pole mount assembly at the
desired side of the patient.
3. Remove the battery cover from
the rear side of the laser level.
4. Insert two "N" size batteries into
the battery compartment cover.
5. Replace the battery compartment
cover.
6. Insert the laser level into the
groove located on the back of the
pole mount base.
7. Ensure the laser level bracket
locks in place.
8. Rotate the laser level so that the
alignment arrow points in the di-
rection of the patient.
9. Ensure the laser is level with the
pole by adjusting the laser level
so that the bubble is centered in-
between the two lines located on
the top of the level.
10. Depress the power switch (cau-
tion: do not stare into light beam).
11. Adjust height of the pole mount
so that the light beam is aligned
with the patient's anatomical ref-
erence point. (The light beam will
automatically turn off in 30 sec-
onds).
Notice: Any serious incident that has
occurred in relation to the device for
the user and/or the patient should be
reported to the manufacturer and the
competent authorithy of the member
state in which the user and/or patient
is established.
Precautions:
CAUTION: Laser radiation, do not
stare into light beam. Do not point la-
ser into mirrors or reflective surfaces.
Use of the laser outside of the indica-
tions for use or adjustments to the la-
ser may result in hazardous radiation
exposure.
