3.5. PERSONNEL QUALIFICATIONS
Specialists for mechanical work
Specialists in the sense of this documentation are persons who are familiar with assembly work,
mechanical installation, commissioning, troubleshooting and maintenance of the products and
who possess the following qualifications:
 Qualification / training in the field of mechanics as specified in the nationally applicable regula-
tions.
3.6. GUARDS
Before using the device, check the guards on the machine. Secure the machine against being
en
switched on again accidentally. Check that the clamping device is correctly mounted.
 Use only when correctly mounted and with safety devices and guards on the machine opera-
tional.
 Remove guards only after the machine has come to a complete stop.
 If there is a hazardous situation or an accident, press the EMERGENCY STOP.
 The EMERGENCY STOP on the machine must be activated during all cleaning, maintenance and
repair operations.

1. Slide the boring bar into the location bore of the boring bar stabiliser along an overall length

» Tool tip positioned at the thinner side of the boring bar stabiliser.
2. Size 10, 12: Tighten all the grub screws on the alignment face. Comply with the specified tight-
ening torque. Make sure the tip height is correct.
Size 16, 20: Tighten the additional screws gently until they touch the screws of the boring bar.
Make sure the tip height is correct.
3. Mount the boring bar stabiliser in the toolholder of the machine.
4. Tighten all the additional screws. Comply with the specified tightening torque.
5. For the best results, the clamping face of the boring bar must be parallel to the X-axis. Check
this with a dial indicator.
6. Disassembly
1. Remove the boring bar stabiliser together with the boring bar from the machine.
2. Undo the additional screws and grub screws.
3. Remove the boring bar.
7. Cleaning
Clean using a dry cloth. Do not use any chemical, alcohol or solvent-based cleaning agents. Do not
use compressed air for cleaning.
