3. Replace the battery with a new 9 V battery.
4. Close the battery compartment.
Warning: Do not puncture batteries or throw them in fire as they
may explode. Do not attempt to recharge non-rechargeable
batteries (alkaline). Dispose of batteries in accordance with local

7. Operation
1.
Aim the IR sensor [B] at the target and press the measurement
trigger [D] to display the target's surface temperature. A red laser
spot appears on the target during measurement.
2.
The distance-to-target ratio is 12:1. This means that, for example, at
12 cm, the target must be larger than 1 cm to get a proper
measurement. Make sure the target area is within this field of view.
3.
The device can measure temperatures in °C or °F. Press the mode
key [F] while the device is on to switch between measurement units.
The corresponding symbol (°C or °F) appears on the display.
4.
When you release the measurement trigger [D], the hold mode is
automatically activated: the last measurement value remains on the
display until you press the measurement key again, or until the device
shuts off automatically (after approx. 7 seconds).
5.
Note that the display is always on, while the laser is only on during
measurement.
Remarks: The temperature
of a shiny or polished metal surface
through a transparent surface such as glass
of an object covered with frost, grime, oil
cannot be measured.
