Dust caps
•
Check the dust caps for damage. Replace damaged dust caps.
•
Clean the dust caps with running water. Dry the dust cap and treat it with preservative oil.

Saddle
•
Check the saddle for damage. Have a Holmatro Certified Technician replace a damaged saddle.
•
Clean the saddle with running water. Dry the saddle and treat it with preservative oil.

Plunger
•
Check the plunger for damage. Have a Holmatro Certified Technician replace a damaged plunger.
For lock nut cylinders:
•
Prevent dirt en liquids from entering the cylinder through the plunger.
•
Extend plunger completely.
•
Rinse plunger and lock nut with water.
•
Wipe plunger and lock nut with a sponge. Do not use abrasives.
•
Dry the plunger with a soft cloth.
•
When plunger is dry, lower it.
6.5.6
Venting the cylinder (Fig. 18)
For single-acting cylinders:
•
Position the cylinder with the plunger facing down.
Position the cylinder lower than the pump
•
Extend and return the plunger two or three times.
For double-acting cylinders:
•
Position the cylinder on its side. Make sure that the couplers face up.
•
Extend and return the plunger two or three times.
6.5.7
Refilling the air pressure return system
•
Make sure that the plunger is fully retracted.
•
Use the air nipple to fully depressurize the cylinder.
•
Recharge the air spring to maximum 6 bar.
6.6
Yearly dealer maintenance
We recommend having the equipment inspected, checked, set and tested once per year by a Holmatro
certified technician who has the appropriate knowledge and the necessary tools (see also section 1.6).
The Holmatro dealer can organize the yearly maintenance for you on a contract basis. Depending on
the intensity of use of your equipment, we can supply a suitable maintenance solution.

Decommissioning/Recycling
At the end of its service life the unit can be scrapped and recycled.
•
Make sure that the unit is put out of order so it can no longer be used.
•
Various parts can be re-used. The unit is made of steel, aluminium, neoprene (sealings) and plastic.
Make sure that the unit does not contain any pressurized components.
•
Collect all dangerous substances separately and dispose of them in an environmentally responsible
way.
•
Consult the Holmatro dealer about recycling.
