SIMPLE LOGGER II
4.8.1 Ancillary measurement parameters
The logger records the elements used in calculating the RMS values for each of the inputs. In addition, the
operator can define the rate and period of recording and the storage format from the configuration window in
the control panel of the Simple Logger
4.9 EXAMPLES OF OPERATION
When the device is switched on, the following operation takes place (with functional batteries and an empty
memory):
The green LED emits a single flash repeated every 5 seconds (the logger is in "standby" mode and
not recording)
The red LED is off, indicating that the memory is empty.
The "PRESS" button can be used to start (or stop) a recording.
If the button is not pressed for one minute, the device switches to "sleep" mode and waits for a press
on the button or the starting time of a recording (if programmed). For as long as the device remains
in "sleep" mode, all of the LEDs remain off.
Pressing the button for 0.5 second returns the device to "standby" mode.
Situation: recording with memory empty
When recording is started, it continues until:
The recording time has elapsed.
The memory is full and the recording mode is "Start / Stop"
The button is pressed until the orange Stop LED lights and is released before the next LED lights.
A stop recording command is sent from the control panel of the Simple Logger
The battery voltage falls to 1.7 V.
Situation: recording with memory partially or completely full
If the red LED emits a double flash every five seconds, the memory is full and must be erased before further
recording is possible.
If the red LED emits only one flash every five seconds before a new recording sequence, the memory is
partially filled.
To save, erase, or test the memory capacity, use the control panel of the Simple Logger
Depending on the conditions, the green LED may also emit a double flash every five seconds, meaning that
the logger is still recording. The operator can then choose to stop the sequence, transfer the data, and/or
empty the memory.
NOTE: The memory cannot be emptied or erased in recording mode. Recording must first be stopped.
Situation: memory full before the end of the recording sequence in "Start/Stop" mode
If the logger is recording in "Start/Stop" mode and the memory is full before the end of the sequence, the
sequence ends.
Pressing the "PRESS" button for 0.5 second calls up the following indications:
The green LED emits a single flash every five seconds (standby mode)
The red LED emits a double flash every five seconds (memory full)
At this point:
♦ The data can be transferred and the memory erased.
♦ A new recording sequence can then be started or programmed once the memory has been emptied.
