Intended Use
• To help overcome a disability by providing a platform to transfer
into the bath, enabling the user to bathe or shower independently.
Assembly Instructions (see illustration
1. Lay the bench seat, bottom up, onto a flat surface,
preferably a table.
2. Insert the armrest tube (A) into the armrest bracket (C).
Ensure the buttons of the spring pin locate fully into position and
protrude through the holes. The armrest should curve away from
the bench when assembled correctly.
3. The backrest may be positioned on either side of the bench,
allowing the bench to be used in either direction, dependent on
the location of the bath tub. Decide on the correct position for
the backrest, in relation to the bath tub, and insert the backrest
support tubing (B) into the brackets (D) of the seat frame. Ensure
that the backrest tubing is securely extended into the front and
rear brackets and the spring pin buttons locate fully into position
and protrude through the holes.
4. Place extension legs (E) into leg frames (F), ensuring that the
suction feet are located into the legs underneath the handle.
5. Position the bench into the bath tub with the armrest and suction
feet on the inside of the tub. Adjust the height of the legs,
removing the bench from the bath tub if necessary, so that the
seat is level and is not resting on the edge of the bath. Note, the
legs inside the bath tub can be adjusted so that they are shorter
than the legs on the outside of the bath tub. Ensure the buttons of
the spring pins for each leg locate fully into position and protrude
through the holes.
Cautions
• Ensure the transfer bench is securely assembled and the feet
and suction feet are in full contact with the floor and bath tub
respectively, before use.
• Use of a slip-resistant bath mat in conjunction with the bench is
strongly recommended
• Regularly inspect all parts carefully for damage or wear,
checking the security of any adjustable fittings.
• The Homecraft Transfer Bath Bench is not to be
used to support more than 120kg / 264lb / 18¾st
• Under no circumstances should you stand on the transfer
bench.
