3. With the guard latch open, the guard can be rotated slightly
left or right to adjust for how the tool needs to be held, but can
not be rotated to every position to ensure maximum protection.
4. figure b - Close the guard latch to secure the guard on the
gear case. You should not be able to rotate the guard by hand
when the latch is closed. Do not operate this tool with a loose
guard or the clamp lever in open position.
5. REMOVING - To remove the guard, open the guard latch,
rotate the guard so that the lugs on the guard are aligned with
the slots on the gear case cover, and pull up on the guard.
nOte: The guard is pre-adjusted to the diameter of the gear case
hub at the factory. If, after a period of time, the guard becomes
loose, tighten the adjusting screw (11) with latch in the closed position and guard installed on the tool.
cautiOn:
Do not tighten the adjusting screw with the latch in the open position. Undetectable
damage to the guard or the gear case hub may result.
cautiOn:
If the guard cannot be tightened with the adjusting screw (11), do not use the tool.
Take the tool and guard to a service center for guard repair or replacement.
SPINdLE LOCK
The spindle lock button (3) is provided to prevent the spindle from rotating when installing or
removing wheels. Operate the spindle lock only when the tool is turned off, the battery is removed
or unit is unplugged, and when the wheel has come to a complete stop. Do not engage the spindle
lock while the tool is operating. Damage to the tool will result and attached accessory may spin
off, possibly resulting in injury. To engage the lock, depress the spindle lock button and rotate the
spindle until you are unable to rotate the spindle further.

The tool is equipped with a spindle lock feature that makes
changing wheels easy. Lock the spindle shaft by depressing the
spindle lock button (3) as shown in figure C and use the supplied
hex wrench (8) to loosen (counterclockwise) the bolt (12).
1. Place the wheel (13) on the spindle (14)
2. Place the flange (15) against the wheel, with the raised
side facing away from the wheel as show in figure C.
3. While depressing the spindle lock button, thread the bolt
through the spindle and tighten (clockwise) with the hex wrench.
OPERATION
Since accessories other than the supplied cutting wheel have not be tested with this product,
the use of such accessories with this tool could be
hazardous. Do not use this tool with toothed blades,
grinding wheels, or wire brushes.
• To switch the tool on, slide and hold the lock-off
button (2), then fully depress the variable speed
switch on the power unit. Once the tool begins to
operate, release the lock-off button.
• To switch the tool off, release the variable speed switch.
NOTE: This attachment only operates in the forward
direction, the forward/reverse slider of the Power Unit
should not be able to be switched to reverse.

Hold the secondary gripping handle (4)
and the main handle of the power unit firmly (figure D)
Turn the tool off and remove battery from tool or disconnect plug from power
