Safety Instructions
The safety instructions are intended for anyone involved with the pump within the scope of installation,
commissioning, operating, and maintenance activities.
Carefully read the guidelines instructions formulated by your company and observe the following safety
instructions and clarifications:
∙
Use the required personal protective devices
(such as safety glasses, safety gloves, and safety clothes).
∙
Do not allow unauthorized persons access to the installation / machine.
∙
The safety data sheets of pumping media and other chemical substances are to be observed!
∙
Be careful when handling the pump because of
- high temperatures
- hot discharging media, sealing media, and gases
- rotating parts
∙
Works on pumps / pump units are only to be carried out with appropriate clothing as protection from
high temperature and possible exposure to hot discharging media, sealing media, and gases.
∙
Rotating drive parts must be enclosed by a cover which cannot be penetrated by splinters.
∙
Do not remove any protective covers of driving parts or other components during operation.
∙
Before beginning repair and service work on the pump / pump unit, switch off the pump drive and let it
coast to standstill.
∙
Secure the switched off drive against unauthorized reactivation.
∙
Make sure the electrical component are de-energized before starting any work on them.
∙
The gear motor may become hot during operation. Please observe the operating instructions for the
motor.

Safety Instructions for Electrically Heated Adhesive Pumps / Drum Pumps or
Clamping Plates
D
Danger!
∙
All pumps / pump units must be grounded. For this purpose, one of the pump fastening screws may be
used.
∙
Protect the electrical heating against short circuit using an appropriate fuse.
∙
Connect the electrical heating to power in installed condition only.
∙
Do not operate the electrical heating without temperature sensor and control.
The heating control must ensure that the max. permissible temperature as specified in the pump data
sheet cannot be exceeded.
∙
The temperature sensor includes two PT100 resistors. One must be used for the heating control, the
other PT100 resistor must be connected to an independent additional temperature monitor. If the max.
permissible temperature as per pump data sheet is exceeded, the electrical heating must be switched
off.
∙
Route the connecting cable of the electrical heating system appropriately to avoid any contact of the
cable with liquids. Regularly check the connection points of the pumped / sealing medium for leakage.
∙
Do not crush or bend the cable.
