Product overview
3.1.1
Dräger X-pid 9000/9500 gas measurement device
A Dräger X-pid 9000/9500 gas measurement device comprises the following
components:
Dräger X-pid 9000/9500 sensor unit (referred to below as "sensor unit")
Control unit (e.g. ecom Smart-Ex 01)
Dräger X-pid 9000/9500 mobile app (referred to below as "mobile app")
The gas measurement device has two measuring modes: "Seeker" and
"Analysis".
The Seeker mode is a broadband measurement for pre-testing and localising
measurement points. This mode allows continuous and direct-reading
measurement of the total concentration of all volatile organic compounds
present with ionisation energy of less than 10.6 eV (photoionisation detector,
abbreviated to PID with 10.6 eV UV radiation) without taking into account
individual response factors. In this measuring mode, the total concentration of
the detected substances is determined with a simplified assumption of the
response of the substance isobutylene (CAS number 115-11-7) and displayed
in ppm. No individual substances are determined once there are multiple
ionisable volatile organic compounds present. Seeker mode is comparable to
individual PID measuring devices.
The Analysis mode allows a selective measurement of previously selected
individual substances, known as target compounds, in a matter of seconds. A
timed separation is performed on an injected gas sample using gas
chromatography. Substance identification and individual substance detection
are possible as a result. For each target compound, the individual response
factor is automatically taken into account and an accurate concentration is
output for each individual substance as the measurement result. The
photoionisation detector used for the Analysis measuring mode also ionises
substances with ionisation energy of less than 10.6 eV (10.6 eV UV radiation).
The Analysis measuring mode is comparable to gas chromatography lab
analyses for its target compounds.
