QAM
Mod:
64QAM
IQ:
normal
Baud:5.363Mb
The maximum value for the QAM output
baud rate is 6.9 Mbaud. The minimum value
will depend on the input signal. The mini-
mum value will depend on the COFDM input
and QAM modulation selected.
For example, for the COFDM modulation
used in Spain, the minimum values are:
16 QAM
5.400 Mbaud
32 QAM
4.320 Mbaud
64 QAM
3.600 Mbaud
128 QAM
3.085 Mbaud
256 QAM
2.700 Mbaud
In case the user selects a modulation that
could not adapt/receive the input signal (in
the example 16 or 32 QAM), after recording
the configuration, the control will show
"128QAM" blinking/twinkling to indicate this
problem.
If we select a lower output QAM baud rate
than the minimum value (for example 6.870
for 64QAM) the control will show/display
"ERR" instead of "Baud".

64QAM
IQ:

ERR!:2.363Mb
NOTE: In the event of selecting the baud
rate without an input signal, the unit
will not be able to calculate the mini-
mum value of the parameter, mea-
ning that the message ERR! will be
shown once the unit has managed to
connect the input signal. To get to
know the minimum output band rate
for any given input signal, the trans-
parent mode may be selected, ena-
bling the measurement of the QAM
output.
On the other hand, the QAM baud rate is an
average value. The current value can vary,
and at certain moments, can be superior to
the average value. For example, in 64QAM
the sign can occasionally exceed 3.600
Mbaud.
For this reason, it is advisable to leave a cer-
tain margin to accommodate/adapt these
variations, increasing the QAM baud rate in
several Kbaud (between 1 and 5 is normally
enough, depending on the entry transpon-
der), for example 3.601 Mbaud.

NOTE: For the unit to perform a correct esti-
mation of the QAM band rate, the
required constellation must be pre-
viously recorded.
c.- Output menu
The following main menu shows the output
frequency/channel (depending on the func-
tioning mode), the output level control and
the functioning mode (cause).
The output frequency range is 46-862 MHz.
The output level control ranges from 00 to 99.
The possible output modes are:
Norm.: Normal output mode.
CW:
Mono Continuous Wave. A carrier is
generated on the selected frequency
(useful to maintain headend balance
in the absence of an input signal).
OFF:
No output is generated.
To switch between frequency mode and
channel mode see 5.2. MENU EXTENDED.
