DO NOT MOUNT THE UNIT IN LOCATIONS THAT WILL BE IN THE VICINITY OF
MOISTURE OR EXTREME
HEAT (such as the engine compartment).
The 3402 can be mounted by using self-tapping screws or Velcro™ tape. Make sure
you have all the necessary parts & tools, then begin mounting the 3402 according to one
of the following procedures:
Screw-down Mounting (Fig. 1):

Hold the 3402 at its mounting location and mark screw holes. Make sure that there
are no objects behind the surface where drilling is to be made that may become
damaged.
Drill holes and secure the unit with self-tapping screws (M5 x 20) supplied.
Velcro™ Tape Mounting (Fig. 2 — 5):
This installation method is suggested when the mounting location does not permit
drilling.

Remove the adhesive protective paper from one side of the Velcro™ tape.
Attach the exposed adhesive side to the under side of the 3402, in a central location.
Do not cover the serial number.
Make sure the mounting location is clean, dry & free from contaminants.
Remove the protective strip from the other side of the Velcro™ pad.
Press the unit onto its mounting location.
