The reference of the brake pad mounted on your bicycle is as follows:
Model: DSK 300
Reference: PD071S
Do not forget that the new brake pads must be run in. They are run in by riding a few minutes and
activating the brakes, alternatively with sudden stops and light braking.
2.
Changing the brake pads
Remove the wheel and remove the old pads from the brake calliper. Position the new pads in the
calliper so that the braking surfaces touch. Do not touch the braking surfaces. Insert the pads one at
a time in the brake calliper.
Then adjust the brakes according to the previous paragraph C.IV.1.
3.
Wear of the wheel rims
As any other part that is subject to wear, the wheel rim should be checked regularly. The wheel rim
can weaken and break, causing you to lose control and fall.
WARNING: It is very important to check the wear of the wheel rims. A damaged wheel
rim can be very dangerous and needs to be replaced.
V.
Adjusting the gear-changing system
Your bicycle has several manually interchangeable speeds with a
Shimano RevoShift system with a rear derailleur.
Careful, never pedal backwards while changing gears and never
force the command lever. Use the right handle to change the rear
sprocket and the left handle to change the front chain ring. On a
slope the small chain ring and the big pinion makes pedalling
easier. Adjust your gear ratio (chain ring/sprocket) as needed
Careful, never pedal backwards while changing gears and never
force the command lever.
For an optimum use of the gear-changing system, we recommend
avoiding changing gear other than during heavy pedalling sessions.
