Record speed 33, 45 or 78 rpm
— Select the record speed (33, 45 or 78 rpm) using switch 11.
— If the speed is changed while a record is being played, the tonearm
will be momentarily lifted to prevent damage to the record or stylus.
— Caution: A special stylus must be used for records played at 78
rpm.
Consult your dealer.
Start
— Move lift lever 5 back to position Y..
— Release tonearm.
— Move the tonearm by hand so that it is positioned above the leader
groove on the record or to the track you wish to hear.
— The platter will turn.
— Move lift lever 5 forwards to position X.
— The tonearm will be lowered.
— The tumtable can also be started without moving the lift lever 5
towards the rear.
— The tonearm will remain poised above the record until the crystal
controlled platter speed has been reached. The stylus will now be
gently lowered.
Interrupting playback, lifting the tonearm
The tonearm can be raised and lowered at any point using the lift lever 5
— even for brief pauses.
— tonearm lowered = lift lever points towards the front Y.
— tonearm raised = lift lever points towards the rear Y.
Improper handling affecting the platter speed will automatically cause
the tonearm to be lifted.
Stop
— Atthe end of the record, the tone arm is raised, and the unit switches
off automatically.
— The unit can also be switched off by raising the tone arm with the use
of the cueing lever 5 and returning it to its support.
— Itis advisable to always lock the tone arm in place after returning it to
its support.
Stylus
The stylus is, of course, subject to natural wear and tear during the
playing process.
Consequently,
a stylus check is recommended
at
regular intervals. For diamond styli, the recommended period is at least
300 h of playing operation. Your authorised dealer will be glad to
perform this service at no charge. A worn or damaged (chipped) stylus
is extremely detrimental to records. If a replacement is necessary, use
only the stylus type recommended in the technical specifications for
the cartridge.
Imitation styli often cause audible impairment of repro-
duction quality and accelerate record wear.
