There is no liquid contained

the battery.
The mower
can therefore
be stored
in any position

fear of leakage.

should

in a cool, dry location.
* The battery
does not need to be fully
discharged
before recharging.
* Two or three initial charging
cycles may
be required
after purchase

is maintenance
free.
Proper Care
Off-season
storage
• In warmer
climates,
to ensure
optimal
performance,
it is recommended
that
the battery
be maintained
on constant
charge.
• The mower may be stored with the char-
ger disconnected
if all of the following

are met:

Service and Installation
Your Remington
brand hybrid mower is shipped
with the battery
system
fully
assembled
and
ready for use. When service or repair is required,
it is recommended
that you take your mower
to
a qualified
service
center.
When inserting
the battery into this product,
the
proper
polarity
or direction
must be observed.
Reverse
insertion
of the battery
can result
in
leakage
or explosion.
DO NOT incinerate
the battery pack even if they
are severely
damaged
or completely
worn out.
The batteries
can explode
in a fire.
WARNING
Do not use charger outdoors or
in wet or damp locations.

Plug charger
directly
into an electrical
outlet.
DO NOT ABUSE CORD.
Never
carry
optional
charger
by cord.
Do not
disconnect
the charger
from the outlet or
mower
by pulling
it by the cord.

Do not service
mower
with
charger
or
safety key installed.
3.
Do not use a damaged
charger.
Replace
damaged
cords or charger
immediately.

When charging
the battery:
• Always
charge it in adry area protected
from the weather.
• Do not expose
it or charger
to rain.
• Do not charge it in wet locations.
• Do not charge
it when
surrounding
temperature
is below
32°F (0°C) or.
above
104°F (40°C)

Keep the mower
and charger
away from
water_
heat sources
(such
as radiators,
heaters,
stoves_ etc.), flames_ or chemicals.
Keep cord away from sharp edges.

DO NOT
open
or mutilate
the battery.
Released
electrolyte
is corrosive
and may
cause damage to the eyes or skin. It maybe
toxic if swallowed.
WARNING
Do not store or carry battery so
that metal objects can contact
exposed
battery
terminals.
For
example,
do not place
battery
in aprons,
pockets, tool boxes,
product kit boxes, drawers,
etc.
with loose naris, screws, keys,
jewelry. The battery or conductor
may overheat and cause burns.
IMPORANT:
You must charge
your
battery
before
using your
mower for the first time and in=
between
every use.
Failure to
fully
charge
the battery
before
the
first
use
may
cuase
the
battery's
charging
capacity
to
be decreased.
WARNING
Do not attempt to alter or open
the battery.
Before using mower for the first time, and
whenever battery becomes drained, fully charge
battery for approximately
l 0 hours. If the bat-
tery is not charged completely
before using
the mower, the battery's
charging
capacity
may decrease.
Note: The mower has an on-board battery char-
ger. If the mower is plugged in, the battery can
be charged by selecting "charge" with the power
select knob. If the optional separate charger is
purchased, the battery may be charged when it
is removed from the mower.
Note:
The length
of time
that a battery
can
hold its charge
while
mowing
depends
upon
lawn conditions;
tall or thick grass makes
the
mower
work
harder
causing
the
battery
to
discharge
faster.
The Remington
brand
mower
comes
with
a
sealed, lead acid battery
installed
at the factory.
The battery is rated for 60 volt s and 5 amp-hours.
The battery
should
not leak, regardless
of the
position
in which the mower
is stored.
The battery is completely
maintenance-fl'ee.
You
never need to add water. However,
as with all
rechargeable
batteries,
after years of use they
will eventually
need replacement.
With proper
care,
this battery
should
last up to 5 years.
Note: As the battery
ages, it may take longer
to fully charge
(up to 24 hours).
A good time
to consider
purchasing
a replacement
battery
is when the battery takes longer to charge than
when it was new.
