accordance with the applicable standards on the basis of
this.
• The specified performance level will only be achieved if,
taking into account the prevailing device load (see EN ISO
13849-1:2008-12, Table C.1) and the application case, an
average number of switching cycles per year is not ex-
ceeded (see EN ISO 13849-1:2008-12, C.4.2 and Table
K.1). Assuming that the B10d value for the maximum load
is 400,000, this results in a maximum cycle number of
400,000 / 0.1 × 30 = 133,333 switching cycles/year.
• The safety-related characteristics only apply if the relays
are switched at least once per year.
• Operating the device other than specified may result in
malfunctions or destruction of the device.
• The device must be checked to ensure it is in perfect
working order before commissioning, after replacement of
modules and/or in the case of changes to an installation
that has already undergone acceptance.
• The connection cables must not be stripped to more than
8 mm.
• The expansion units of the SNE series or external contac-
tors with positively-driven contacts can be used to dupli-
cate the enabling current paths.
• The device and contacts must be fused with a maximum 6
A operating class gG.
• Automatic restart (in accordance with EN 60204-1:2011-
01, Section 9.2.5.4.2 and 10.8.3) must be prevented using
the higher-level control.

• The safety functions have not been checked by UL. The
certification process has been carried out in accordance
with the requirements for general applications as stipu-
lated by UL508.

Behaviour in the event of a
malfunction
• Locking: If the device becomes locked (e.g. due to a brief
power failure), it can be unlocked by opening and closing the
safety equipment.
• Short circuits: If short circuits occur on the control lines, the
electronic fuse is tripped. The device will be ready for opera-
tion again once the short circuit has been rectified and the
fuse has had a brief recovery period.
• Contact malfunctions: Activation is not possible if the
contacts are welded.
4
Disposal
Unusable or irreparable devices must always be disposed of in
accordance with the relevant country-specific disposal regula-
tions that apply (e.g. European waste code 16 02 04).
