Placing into operation
Remove the turntable and all accessories from its packing case.
Please do not discard the packing, as you may need if for later
transport
Turn the two transport locking screws
6 approximately 10
times in clockwise direction. Position B (Figure 1).
The platter is not spring-mounted and ready for operation.
In the event of later transport, the chassis must be screwed
down once again by tightening the screws in anti-clockwise
direction. Position A (Figure 1)
Fitting the platter
Carefully place the platter — without the mat — on to its base.
Hold the platter shaft and turn the platter until it audibly clicks
downwards. Now insert the fixing disc 7 , depress it down-
wards lightly and turn it in clockwise direction until it moves
no further (Fig. 2). Now place the mat onto the platter. Make
sure that it lies flat.
To remove the platter, lightly depress the fixing disc downwards
and turn it by approximately 60° in anticlockwise direction.
The platter can now be once again removed.
Balancing the tonearm and setting the tracking and
antiskating force
1. Switch off the antiskating control 3: 1.....

1
2. Screw the tonearm counter balance 1 onto thé tonearm
3. Flip the cueing level 4 to Y
4. Tilt the tonearm towards the platter.
5, Exactly balance the tonearm by turning the counterweight
The tonearm is exactly balanced when it hovers freeiy and
returns
to its initial positión
when
pushed upwards or
downwards.
6. Return the tonearm to its rest and lock it once again.
Hold the tonearm
counterweight
1 and turn the front
scaled knurled wheel
2 to "0" ("O" can be seen above the
marking on the tonearm tube).
Now turn the complete tonearm counterweight in anticlock-
wise direction and set the tracking force of the fitted cartridge.
For this purpose, refer to the enclosed data sheet.
Set the corresponding value on the antiskating control 3 in
accordance with the following table.

Placing into operation
Automatic start, speed selection
When the platter speed, i.e. 33 or 45 rpm, is selected, the disc
diameter for automatic start is also automatically preselected.
After flipping back the stylus guard and unlocking the tone-
arm, turn the control button 9 to "start". The tonearm sets
down automatically on the disc and, at the end of the disc, is
automatically
returned
to the tonearm
rest. The turntable
switches off automatically.
Manual start, cue control
The tonearm can also be placed manually on the disc, at the
end of which the turntable switches off automatically. The
tonearm is smoothly raised and lowered with the cue lever. It
operates independently of the automatic tonearm system and
can be used with both automatic and manual start.

X Tonearm lowered
Stop
In addition to the automatic stop at the end of a disc, theturn-
table can also be switched off at any time by turning the con-
trol button 9 to "stop"
Pitch control and stroboscope monitor
Each of the two speeds, i.e, 33 and 45 rpm, can be varied with
the pitch control. This is adjusted by means of the "pitch"
knob 8.
The set speed can be monitored by means of the stroboscope
divisions on the outer edge of the platter.
Either the turntable is equipped with a light source or the
edge of the platter is observed with an AC light. The stroboscope
ring appears to stand still at the exact speed.
Ist stroboscope ring = 45 rpm for 50 Hz mains frequency
2nd stroboscope ring = 45 rpm for 60 Hz mains frequency
3rd stroboscope ring=
33 rpm for 50 Hz mains frequency
4th stroboscope ring = 33 rpm for 60 Hz mains frequency
Replacing the cartridge
Instead of the fitted cartridge, you can also fit a different
half-inch cartridge weighing from 4 to 8 g. First of all loosely
fit the new cartridge to the headshell, then cut out the fitting
gauge of page 2 of these operating instructions and place it
between the tonearm-bearing bush and the cartridge. Nowslide
in the cartridge longitudinally until the stylus is precisely flush
with the thick line. Now screw the cartridge tight.

Stylus
The stylus is subject to natural wear and tear during normal
playing. Therefore, we recommend you occasionally check the
stylus and, in the case of diamond styli, this should be carried
out after approximately 300 playing hours. Your specialist
dealer will be pleased to do this for you free of charge. Worn
or damaged (splintered) styli chisel the modulation from the
grooves and destroy records. Therefore, only use as replacement
the stylus types
recommended
in the technical data of the
cartridge. Imitated styli result in audible quality losses and in-
creased wear and tear of records.
When removing the stylus please note the information contained
on the separately enclosed data sheet referring to the cartridge
on your unit.
Electrical safety
The unit complies with the International Safety Regulations
for radio and related devices (IEC 65) and the EEC guidelines
76/889/EWG.
