1.1 General notes on safety
These technical document apply to the SUNmic 60 con-
trol unit.
The control unit may only be handled by person-
nel who are qualified.
Hold power tools by insulated gripping surfaces
when performing an operation where the cutting tool may
contact hidden wiring or its own cord. Contact with a
«live» wire will make exposed metal parts of the tool «live»
and shock the operator.
WARNING Read all safety warnings and all in-
structions. Failure to follow the warnings and in-
structions may result in electric shock, fire and/or
serious injury.
Save all warnings and instructions for future refer-
ence.
1.2 Use of the machine for purposes for
which it is intended
This control unit is only intended to be used with tools of
a maximum diameter of 45 mm for grinding, milling, pol-
ishing, deburring, engraving, satin finishing and brushing
processes.
1.3 Incorrect use
All uses other than those described under section
1.2 are regarded as incorrect use and are there-
fore not admissible.

2.1 Prior to taking the machine into service
Before connecting tool to a power
source, be sure the voltage sup-
plied is the same as specified on
the name plate of the tool. The power sup-
ply should not vary more than 10% above or below the
voltage indicated on the nameplate. Check grinding tool
prior to use. The maximum allowable speed of the tool

and of the chuck may not be exceeded under any circum-
stances. Observe national regulations.
Remove safety guard.
2.2 Taking the machine into service
2.2.1 Connecting the control unit to a power supply
Connect the mains cable to the control unit and connect
it to the power supply.
2.2.2 Assembling the hand tool
Only utilize hand tools which have been approved
by SUHNER. For more detailed information, see
technical document for the hand tool used.
