2. Safe conditions
WARNING!
The cordless chainsaw is in a safe condition if the following points are observed:
- The cordless chainsaw is not damaged.
- The cordless chainsaw is clean and dry.
- Protective guard is mounted. Never use the cordless chainsaw without the protective guard.
- Protective guard is undamaged and has not been modified.
- The saw chain is lubricated.
- The guide bar and chain are properly mounted.
- The chain is properly tensioned.
- Accessories are properly mounted.
- Use an undamaged and functioning battery.
- Keep battery clean and dry.
- Do not charge a damanged or defective battery.
- Battery charger is undamaged.
- Keep battery charger clean and dry.
3. Operation precautions
WARNING!
- Make sure any persons outside the work are are within calling distance.
- Work calmly and carefully.
- Do not work with the cordless chainsaw if light and visibility are poor.
- Operate the cordless chainsaw alone.
- Do not work above shoulder height.
- Watch out for obstables.
- Do not touch the rotating saw chain.
- Switch off the cordless chainsaw and remove the battery if the saw chain is blocked by an object.
- Do not touch the hot guide bar, saw chain or chain sprocket.
- Wear work gloves made of durable material.
4. Reactive forces precautions
WARNING!
The cordless chainsaw is pulled away from the operator
when the bottom of the bar is used for cutting.
- Hold the cordless chainsaw firmly with both hands.
- Work with the chain guard properly mounted.
- Work with an undamaged chain guard that has not been
modified.
- Always cut with properly sharpened and tensioned saw
chain.
- Keep the guide bar straight in the cut.
- Apply the stop properly.
- Cut with the motor running at full speed.
