6.1.3 Inspect the springs and Panic Stop mechanism. Ensure that all components are
in working order. If the springs or the cam in the Panic Stop mechanism are
damaged, remove the rope grab from service immediately.
6.1.4 To test the Panic Stop spring, grasp the attachment ring as in NOTE beneath
item 4.5. Manipulate the spring inward. It should return to it original state after
release without assistance.
6.1.5 Check the cam and ensure the teeth that engage the lifeline are completely free
of debris. Clean with warm soapy water if debris is present.
6.1.6 Ensure that the up arrow is visible and not obstructed in any way.
6.2
MAINTENANCE
6.2.1 Clean rope grab with mild, soapy and water. Allow to air dry.
6.2.2 Keep rope path clean and free of debris. Do not use oils or lubricants, which
could affect grabbing action of the cam on the lifeline.
6.2.3 Clean rope grab thoroughly before storing.

STORAGE
7.1
Store in a cool dry place away from chemicals, water and sources of heat. If
equipped with a lanyard, store away from direct sunlight.
