Removing and inserting the battery
pack
Removal:
Press the battery pack release (9) button and pull
the battery pack (12) down.
Inserting:
Slide in the battery pack (12) until it engages.
9 Switching on and off
Always guide the machine with both hands.
Switch on first, then guide the accessory
towards the workpiece.
The machine must not be allowed to draw in
additional dust and shavings. When
switching the machine on and off, keep it away
from dust deposits. After switching off the
machine, only place it down when the motor has
come to a standstill.
Avoid switching on the machine accidentally:
always switch it off when the battery pack is
removed from the machine.
In continuous operation, the machine
continues running if it is forced out of your
hands. Therefore, always hold the machine with
both hands using the handles provided, stand in a
safe position and concentrate.
Machines with slide switch:

Switching on: Push the slide switch (1) forward
. For continuous operation, flip the switch
down until it locks in place.
Switching off: Press the rear end of the slide
switch (1) and release.
10 Installing the tools
Press in the spindle locking knob (2) only
when the spindle is stationary! Remove
battery pack from machine.
Tools with threaded insert:
1. Remove the tensioning spindle (14) if neces-
sary. Press in spindle locking button (2) and
hold in place. Unscrew the tensioning spindle
using the open-ended spanner (16).
2. Press in spindle locking button and hold in
place.
3. Screw the tool onto the spindle and tighten.

Tools for tensioning spindle:
1. Insert the key (15) into the slot on the
tensioning spindle (14).
2. Slide the tool onto the tensioning spindle.
3. Press in spindle locking button (2) and hold in
place.
4. Screw the tool fixing screw (13) onto the
tensioning spindle and tighten using the
hexagon spanner. (the spindle locking knob
engages and the tool can be secured).
If the tools used are shorter than 100 mm,
insert the relevant distance sleeves (17). This
is the only way to properly secure the tool.
11 Tips and Tricks
When working on surfaces, guide the tool parallel
to the surface. We recommend that you attach the
guide roller (equipment-specific). It makes good
guidance of the machine possible and sensitive
metering of the press-on pressure.
12 Servicing
Before carrying out any maintenance: remove the
battery pack from the machine.
Motor cleaning: blow compressed air through the
rear ventilation slots of the machine regularly,
frequently and thoroughly. Here, the machine must
be held firmly.
13 Troubleshooting
The electronic signal display (8) lights up
and the load speed decreases. The
temperature is too high! Run the machine in
idling until the electronics signal indicator switches
off.
The electronic signal display (8) flashes
and the machine does not start. The
restart protection is active.
The machine will not start if the battery pack is
inserted while the machine is on. Switch the
machine off and on again.
14 Repairs
Repairs to electrical tools must be carried out
by qualified electricians ONLY!
