6. Safety advice
-
To prevent any risk of fire or explosion:
 Do not smoke near the device.
 Do not operate the device near a source of ignition.
 Do not let the device come into contact with greasy or oily products.
 Do not handle the device with greasy or oily hands.
 Do not disassemble if the device is pressurised.

Do not create an obstruction to restrict the outlet from the medical device.

Effect of pressure: Caution: check the inlet pressure fed to the device. If this inlet pressure is not within the range
indicated on the device, there is a danger that the flow rate delivered might be outside the permitted normative range.

Effect of temperature: Caution: the precision of the flow rates delivered by the device varies as a function of the
ambient temperature (between 0°C and 40°C).

Do not disassemble the device's inlet or outlet connectors.
-
Ensure that the device is always in a vertical position.
-
Caution! Do not allow water from a connected humidifier to enter the flowmeter when it is removed from its normal
operating position (for transport, cleaning etc.); always unscrew the humidifier before handling the device in any way.
7. Cleaning and disinfection
-
Disconnect the device from the gas supply.
-
Clean the outside of the device with a clean cloth, dampened with soapy water. Rinse the device then leave it to dry.

Do not immerse in any liquid.
-
Do not use an alcohol-based disinfection product.
-
When using a disinfection product:
check that the product is compatible with the type of plastic used to make the device (polyamide,
polypropylene and ABS) before using it.
check and comply with the product's directions for use (concentration, dilution, contact time, etc.)
-
If necessary, contact the manufacturer if you have any question about these cleaning and disinfection instructions.
8. Storage
Store at between -20 and +60°C in a clean and dry place.
Store in its original packaging, if possible.
9. Maintenance
No preventive maintenance is required on the RTM3 during its service life.
Only individuals authorised by Technologie Médicale may disassemble the device.
Technologie Médicale recommends that the device should be inspected on a yearly basis:
 Check that the device can be connected correctly to a wall-mounted gas supply or to the pressure outlet on a
pressure regulator.
 Check that the gas flows correctly at a range of different flow rates.
 Check that there is no leakage when the regulating knob is closed (i.e. zero flow).
10. Guarantee
The device is covered by a 1-year warranty (parts and labour), which does not cover damage or incidents caused by
negligence, misuse, incorrect supervision or maintenance.
Contractual service life: 10 years.
