Working with the device
Switching on the device
1. To switch on, operate the rotary button 6 (Fig. 1)
and set the corresponding speed.
Some tips for working with the LGS/A:
• A correct and consistent speed achieves a high
grinding performance, not excessive contact
pressure!
• The following tends to give optimal results:
Operate tools with smaller diameters at higher
speeds, and tools with larger diameters at lower
speeds.
• When storing the bits and cutters, make sure
they are reliably protected from damage!
Graphics Fig. 6 and 7 show examples of different
methods of handling for different tasks.
6 Maintenance, cleaning and care
Changing the collet
If the utilised collet is worn or damaged, it can be
replaced very easily. Commercially available ER 11
standard collets are used with a tool holder for 6
mm diameter shafts.
1. Loosen and remove sleeve nut 1 (Fig. 4)
2. Press your thumb against the side of the collet
to unclip and remove it as shown in Fig.
3. Insert a new collet. Caution: The collet must
engage audibly and tangibly
4. Screw the sleeve nut with the collet onto the shaft.
Caution!
The sleeve nut must not be tightened if there is
no tool shaft in the collet! This might damage
the collet!
Cleaning the device:
Every tool is contaminated by dust or chips while
working. Cleaning is therefore essential. To ensure
a long service life, however, the machine should be
cleaned with a soft cloth or brush after each use.
Always keep the apertures required for cooling the
motor free of dust and dirt.
