INSTALLATION GUIDE: KRIPSOL® RANGE OF LED SPOTLIGHTS FOR SWIMMING POOLS.
EN
Technical description of the spotlight:
• This LED spotlight is designed to light up pools of all types (in-ground and above-ground).
®
• Kripsol
spotlights are made of white injected ABS (a hard-wearing material that is unaltered by physical and chemical agents)
and fibre-reinforced polypropylene.
• The spotlight is class III, and IP68 rated at 1m. The bulb has a very low safety supply voltage of 12 VAC.
• The spotlight must point away from the house or patio to prevent intrusive light levels.
• The junction box is not supplied. It may be necessary to ask the opinion of a qualified person regarding the installation.
• Cable of sufficient length must be left during installation to allow for the bulb to be replaced out of the water at a later date.
General information for spotlight assembly:
• The manufacturer will not be held liable for any assembly, installation, commissioning, handling or incorporation of components
carried out by other parties.
®
• Kripsol
spotlights are designed to be built into new swimming pools (concrete, fibreglass or liner). The optical system is fixed in
the niche by two A2 stainless steel screws and two U-shaped metal anchoring clips.
• Before installation: select one of the two possible cable exits in the spotlight niche (part no. 7, page 30): on the side or at the bottom
of the niche. Fit the cable gland (which anchors the cable and protects it against twisting and stretching; part no. 10, 11 and 12 page
30) in the chosen cable exit. Place the hexagonal plug in the other exit to maintain water-tightness.
• The spotlight must be positioned no more than 60 cm below the coping (distance measured from the axis of the bulb). See step 4
page 29.
Procedure for assembling and connecting the spotlight pre-assembled in the factory
(pre-assembled spotlights with cable PHBM13, PLBM13, PHCM13 or PLCM13):
1. Remove the optical system from its packaging and unwind the cable.
2. Select the cable exit on the niche (part no. 7, page 30). Then connect the cable guide tube (part no. 19, page 30) to the outside of
the bulb housing and to the chosen cable exit on the niche.
3. Insert the end of the cable into the niche through the cable gland. See steps 1, 1A & 1B page 29.
4. Fit the spotlight niche (part no. 7, page 30). If the swimming pool is made of concrete, embed the niche in the wall or fix it to the
wall using gunite. In the case of a pool made of fibreglass or with a liner, fix the niche using the two seals part no. 5, page 30, the
mounting flange for liner pools (part no. 6, page 30) and the screws (part no. 17, page 30) included. See step 2 page 29.
5. Place the two U-shaped metal anchoring clips (part no. 4, page 30) and begin tightening the two screws (part no. 16, page 30). See
steps 5 and 6 page 29.
6. Wind the cable round the bulb housing and insert the optical system into the niche, being careful to hold the two side clips. See
step 7 page 29.
7. Re-close the spotlight and tighten the 3 screws completely (part no. 16, page 30). See step 8 page 29.
Procedure for assembling and connecting the spotlight if not pre-assembled in the factory
(non pre-assembled spotlights with cable PHB13, PLB13, PHC13 or PLC13):
1. Use a power cable with the following characteristics:
• Minimum length: 2 m.
• Two-pole cable with maximum outer diameter of 14 mm.
• Cable type H07RNF (AD8) with minimum section of 2 x 1,5mm².
2. Prepare the 2 ends of the cable by stripping back each wire.
3. Insert the end of the cable into the niche through the cable gland. See steps 1, 1A & 1B page 29.
4. Fit the spotlight niche (part no. 7, page 30). If the swimming pool is made of concrete, embed the niche in the wall or fix it to the
wall using gunite. In the case of a pool made of fibreglass or with a liner, fix the niche using the two seals (part no. 5, page 30), the
mounting flange for liner pools (part no. 6, page 30) and the screws (part no. 17, page 30) included. See step 2 page 29.
5. Insert the end of the cable through the cable gland of the bulb housing (part no. 1, page 30). Connect the cable to the bulb. See
step 3 page 29.
6. Place the O-ring (part no. 8, page 30), the bulb housing and the positioning and retaining ring (part no. 3, page 30), and tighten the
6 screws with a torque of 1.5 Nm. See step 4 page 29.
7. Place the two U-shaped metal anchoring clips (part no. 4, page 30) and begin tightening the two screws (part no. 16, page 30). See
steps 5 and 6 page 30.
8. Wind the cable round the bulb housing and insert the optical system into the niche, being careful to hold the two side clips. See
step 7 page 29.
9. Re-close the spotlight and tighten the 2 screws completely (part no. 16, page 30). See step 8 page 29.
Procedure for replacing the bulb:
1. Loosen the two screws of the spotlight face ring and press them inwards with your fingers to separate the bulb housing from the
niche. See steps 7 and 8 page 29.
2. While pushing the screws with your fingers, pull the face ring outwards until the bulb/bulb housing assembly is removed. Take the
assembly out of the water.
3. Remove the face ring from the bulb/bulb housing assembly. See step 5 page 29.
4. Loosen the six screws holding the assembly together. See step 4 page 29.
5. Loosen the cable gland cap to release the cable.
6. Loosen the screws fixing the cable to the bulb, and remove the bulb.
7. Fit the new bulb and follow the procedure above in reverse order.
8. After putting the bulb/bulb housing assembly back together, fit the face ring and follow the instructions in point 6 of the procedure
for assembling and connecting the spotlight when not pre-assembled in the factory.
