Troubleshooting
Pump indications
Pump does not cycle.
Pump will not prime.
Pump cycles rapidly.
Pump will not stall (cycles more than
once or twice/hour).
External leaks
Product leakage visible at bottom of
body (11).
Product leakage at exhaust port in
air motor (1).
Product leakage between
cylinder (15) and base valve (21).
Internal leaks
Pump does not prime or cycles
continuously, or slowly (once or
twice/hour).
Possible problems
Packings (10) too tight.
Air motor not operating properly
Pump tube jammed and/or contains loose components.
Insufficient air pressure.
Excessive cycling speed.
Pump leaking internally.
Product source empty.
Pump requires break-in period.
Pump leaking internally.
Pump leaking externally.
Distribution system leaking.
Damaged gasket (12).
Cylinder (15) not sufficiently tight.
Packings (10) too loose.
Worn or damaged packing group (10).
Worn or damaged air motor piston rod.
Worn or damaged o-ring (20).
Base valve
Foreign material between washer (16)
and base valve (21).
Foreign material between washer (16) and plunger (17).
Worn or damaged washer (16).
Worn or damaged base valve (21).
Worn or damaged plunger (17).

Solution
Adjust bushing (9).
Inspect air motor and rebuild or replace as
necessary.
Rebuild pump tube.
Increase air pressure.
Reduce air pressure.

Replenish product.
Operate pump against moderate fluid pressure
for up to one hour.

Correct leak.
Replace gasket (12).
Tighten cylinder (15) into body (11).
Adjust bushing (9)
Use kit 393640.
Replace air motor piston rod
Replace o-ring (20).
Tighten base valve (21) into cylinder (15).
Locate and eliminate source of foreign material.
Disassemble pump tube, clean, inspect, and
replace worn or damaged components.
