Connections
Before proceeding
e Turn off all the components before making connections.
@ Make sure that you connect the white PIN-plugs to the left (L-
white) terminals and the red PIN-plugs to the right (R-red) ter-
minals.
® Connect everything securely. Loose connections can lead to
malfunction.
e To prevent damage to cords, connect and disconnect by
holding the plug, not the cord.
Connection A: Fixed
When this connection is made the LINE OUT/PHONES control
controls only the headphone volume.
Connection B: Variable
When this connection is made the LINE OUT/PHONES control
controls both headphone and amplifier volume.
If you are using connection B:
While recording do not turn the LINE OUT/PHONES control as
this will alter the output level of the CD player. Before recording,
set the contro! to a position that is best for your recording needs.
At MIN there will be no audio output.
The CD-79 can also bypass the internal Low Pass Filter (LPF),
built into the digital analog converter, improving the sound
quality.
@ Press the DAC (Digital Analog Converter) DIRECT OUT
button.
The orange indicator will light above the button.
© The digital output terminal is coloured orange.
© Do not remove the terminal cap of the OPTICAL terminal
when making the following connection.
