Navigation with buttons
The product has 4 buttons below the display for the following operations:
• Navigating between configuration menus
• Selection of functions and values
• Switching the display
INFO: The display language is English and cannot be changed.
Operating principle:
• In default setting, the first press of a button always switches on the back-
ground illumination.
• To make settings in the menu, press and hold any arrow button for at least
2 seconds.

5.3.3 Function and application
The product uses the calorimetric measuring principle. The product measures
the cooling effect of the medium flowing over the heated probe. The higher the
flow speed of the medium, the higher the cooling effect of the heated probe.
The product has 2 configurable switch outputs Q1 and Q2 (only in the IO-Link
product variant) for flow, pressure, or temperature. Additionally, an IO-Link inter-
face and Ethernet interface is provided at the switch output (Q1).
The product is intended for the following applications:
• Measuring compressed air and non-corrosive and non-ignitable gases in ma-
chines
• Monitoring the energy consumption of compressed air on machines and in
the pressure distribution system
• Monitoring leaks in compressed air lines on machines
• Measuring inert gases in the packaging of foodstuffs

6 Assembly and installation
Before you start with the installation: Familiarize yourself with the basic specifica-
tions for assembly as early as possible in advance. See
g 6.2 Preparation.
6.1 Planning
6.1.1 Installation conditions
General requirements
• Make sure that the product is installed in a manner that protects it from all
types of mechanical loads.
Product-specific requirements
• Mounting orientation. See
• The measuring medium must be at least purity class 3:4:4 or better in accor-
dance with ISO 8573-1:2010.
7
8
• Mount product upstream of valves or pushers.

• In compressed air networks, mount the product downstream of the air dryer.
If there is no air dryer: Install the product downstream of the condensate sep-

arator and suitable filters.
• Do not mount the product directly downstream of a regulator or filter regula-
tor. Only use the specified filter product variant.
• Maintain a minimum clearance of 150 mm for the transmitter unit of the
product.
Ambient conditions
• Let the product acclimatize for a few hours before installation. Otherwise wa-
ter may condense in the housing.
• Observe the heat radiation of the measuring medium.
• Keep the installation location free from vibration.
• Protect the product from direct sunlight and UV radiation.
• Place the product as far away as possible from potential flow disturbances
(e.g. different pipe diameters, curves, T-connectors, valves, or pushers).
• Ensure that the shielding does not enclose the product.
6.1.2 Assembly options
• Pipe mounting (pipe product variant only). See
product variant
• Assembly with mounting bracket. See
bracket.
• Assembly with block assembly kit. See
kit.
6.1.3 Required accessories, materials and tools
Select material and tools that are suitable for your product configuration. De-
pending on the configuration, you will need further accessories.
Mounting material
For mounting, you can use your own mounting material or AVENTICS mounting
material. Respect dimensions and tightening torques.
Tools
• No special tools required.
6.2 Preparation
6.2.1 Unpacking and checking the product
1. Check the material number to see if the product matches your order.
2. Check the product for transport and storage damage.
Do not install a damaged product. Return damaged products together with
the delivery documents. See
3. Prepare required accessories, materials and tools.
6.2.2 Notes
• Insulate the wire ends against each other. When the supply voltage is
switched on, there is a risk of short circuits if open wire ends touch each other.
• Wire cross-sections of the supply line provided by the user must be in accor-
dance with IEC 60364-1 and IEC 60364-5-52.
