CLEANING YOUR HUMIDIFIER
To keep your humidifier running efficiently, clean it regularly. Weekly cleaning is recommended. All maintenance
should be done in the kitchen or bathroom on a water-resistant surface near a faucet.
To properly clean your humidifier we recommend the separate processes of Scale Removal and Disinfecting.
THESE TWO PROCESSES MUST BE PERFORMED SEPARATELY.
Before Cleaning
Turn off and unplug humidifier. NEVER clean the humidifier when it is running. If the humidifier has
1.
recently been in use, wait at least 20 minutes for unit to cool before beginning cleaning process.
2.
Disassemble by removing Top Cover and internal components.
A.
Mist Chimney – twist left and pull straight up to remove.
B.
Heating Element Cover – pull red latch toward front of unit and lift straight up to remove.
C.
Water Level Float – pull red Float Tab straight up to remove.

Scale Removal
Keeping the Heating Element free of scale buildup will help the humidifier to run efficiently.
1.
Pour 3 cups (0.7L) of undiluted, distilled white vinegar into the Water Tank/Reservoir. Let soak for 20
minutes to loosen scale on Heating Element.
2.
Wet the bristles of a soft brush with vinegar and gently scrub the surface of the Heating Element to remove
mineral deposits.
DO NOT USE HARD BRUSHES, STEEL WOOL OR OTHER HARD ABRASIVES ON THE HEATING
ELEMENT. DOING SO WILL DAMAGE THE PROTECTIVE COATING AND CAUSE THE HEATING
ELEMENT TO FAIL.
3.
Empty vinegar by pouring from the side of the humidifier into the sink.
4.
Pour 3 cups (0.7L) of water into the Water Tank/Reservoir, lightly swish water and pour out. Repeat until the
smell of vinegar is gone.
To remove scale from other components, soak separately in vinegar or wash in top rack of dishwasher.
