Safety instructions
This device is not intended for use by persons
(including children) with reduced physical,
sensory or mental capabilities or a lack of
experience and knowledge, unless they have
been given supervision or instruction concer-
ning use of the device by a person responsible
for their safety. Children must also be super-
vised to ensure that they do not play with the
device. The device and its connection cable
must be kept away from children.
Warning!
Danger of short circuiting! Fire hazard! Danger
due to electric shock
Avoid the following situations:
• Do not operate the device near flammable
gases and open flame.
• Since the device meets the requirements of
protection class IP54, it is protected against
the ingress of splash water as long as the caps
of the output sockets are closed or consumers
with corresponding connector plugs are used.
Do not immerse the device in liquid and do not
operate the device in standing water.
• Do not insert conductive objects into the
openings of the device.
• To avoid unauthorized heating of the de-
vice, make sure to place it outside of direct
sunlight in a well-ventilated area. Do not cover
the device.
• To avoid unauthorized heating of the de-
vice, make sure to place it outside of direct
sunlight in a well-ventilated area. Do not cover
the device.
If there is suspicion that the device cannot be
operated safely or in case of damage, plea-
se contact Instagrid's service. Do not use
the device.
The device may only be opened and/or repaired
by authorised specialist personnel.
Before each use, check the device, connection
cable, extension cable and plug for damage and
ageing. If damage is visible, the device must
not be used.
Safe operation of the device can no longer be
guaranteed in the following cases:
22
• The device shows visible signs of damage (e.g.
after a fall)
• The device is not working properly
• The device has been immersed in liquid or
operated in standing water or other circums-
tances justify the assumption that moisture
has penetrated the device
Further information:
• Ensure that cables are not kinked or crushed.
• In accordance with DIN VDE 0100-510, the in-
stalled residual current circuit breakers must
be checked for proper functioning at regular
intervals.
• Ensure that the viewing window is securely
screwed back into place after each opening.
• Ensure that the device stands securely and
use sufficiently long cables to prevent it from
accidentally tipping over.
• Ensure that a load to be connected is switched
off before it is connected to the Instagrid LINK
to prevent unintentional activation of the load.
• Do not use the device in connection with
consumers with increased availability require-
ments, such as medical devices.
Specified Conditions of Use
• The Instagrid LINK is primarily used to dis-
tribute electrical energy from an AC voltage
source (e.g. household socket or Instagrid
ONE or GO) to up to three electrical appliances
that are intended to be operated from a stan-
dard household socket (hereinafter referred to
as consumers).
Up to three AC voltage sources can be
connected to the Instagrid LINK; only the
corresponding inputs may be used for this
purpose. Analogue loads may only be con-
nected to the corresponding outputs of the
Instagrid LINK. (see Fig. 02)
It is important to ensure that the total power
consumption of the loads connected to the
Instagrid LINK does not exceed the capacity
of the weakest AC voltage source connected
to the Instagrid LINK. Not only the rated
power must be considered here, but also the
consumption of peak power.
A circuit breaker, which carries the current of
all three outputs, protects the Instagrid LINK
from overloading the inputs but not from
overloading the active source.
