ECO Safe Charge
Power Management System
TM
The remote controlled ECO Safe Charge™ Power Management System has the capabilities to power electrical equipment
safely and efficiently. The intelligent ECO Safe Charge™ Power Management System provides four essential functions:
1.
SAFE-ON: sequentially stages power to each group of outlets, reducing the possibility of a momentary electrical
Overload when multiple laptop chargers are first powered on.
2.
ECO-TIMER-ALL: sequentially stages power to each group of outlets but automatically turns the power off after a
selected time has elapsed. Use this mode to quickly charge all laptops if it is permissible to charge them together
without causing a general electrical overload.
3.
ECO-TIMER-CYCLE: individually powers each group of outlets at a time for the duration selected then automatically
turns power off before applying power to the next group of outlets until it has cycled through all groups of outlets.
Use this mode to prevent a general electrical overload if all the laptops require more power than is permitted to be
Supplied to all laptops together.
4.
SAFE-OFF: this function turns off all outlets.
The ECO Safe Charge Power Distribution Unit has four groups of controlled outlets and one Always-On Aux outlet. Group-1
has two outlets, group-2 group-3 and group-4 only has one outlet separately.
Pair the Remote to the Power Distribution Unit
1. Pressing and holding down
the MODE button for more
than 3 seconds in SAFE-OFF
mode will put the Power
Distribution Unit into pairing
procedure.
3. Pressing any button on the remote control will send its ID to the Power Distribution Unit and overwrite any previous ID stored.
The SAFE ON indicator will then turn OFF and your Remote Control will now be paired to the Power Distribution Unit.
Notes:
• One Remote Control can be paired with multiple Power Distribution Units.
• One Power Distribution Unit can only be paired with one Remote Control.
• The state of the MODE indicators and outlets are unchanged during pairing.
• The stored ID will survive removal and replacement of the Remote Control
battery and power loss to the Power Distribution Unit.
Using the Power Distribution Unit With the Remote Control
1.
Pressing the SAFE-ON button on the Remote Control will turn ON the four controlled
outlets sequentially and will remain on until any other mode is set. The SAFE ON indicator
illuminates.
2.
Pressing the 1HR-ALL or 3HR-ALL buttons on the Remote Control will activate ECO-TIMER
ALL mode.
a. All groups of outlets will turn on sequentially and will turn off automatically after one or
three hours has elapsed respectively.
b. The TIMER ALL indicator will flash the number of times corresponding to the specific
button pressed to reflect the timer duration. ie pressing the 3HR-ALL button will result in
three flashes, corresponding to a three-hour timer duration.
3.
Pressing the 1HR CYCLE or 3HR CYCLE buttons on the Remote Control will activate ECO-
TIMER CYCLE mode. This function cycles each controlled outlet on the Power Distribution
Unit, giving it a set amount of charge time.
a. The time duration is determined by the specific CYCLE button pressed. Ie 1HR-CYCLE
button corresponds to 1- hour timer duration,
b. When the timer duration has elapsed the group of outlets will be turned OFF and the next
consecutive group of outlets will turn ON automatically.
c. The CYCLE ALL indicator will flash the number of times corresponding to the specific CYCLE
button pressed to reflect the timer duration. ie pressing the 3HR-CYCLE button will result
in three flashes, corresponding to a three-hour timer duration.
2. The SAFE ON indicator will flash
quickly when you are in pairing
procedure. If there is no valid ID
received within 20 seconds, the
Power Distribution Unit will exit
from the pairing procedure and
pairing will need to be re-done.
