9.1
Error messages
The i-CON 1 carries out an automatic error diagnosis. The diagnostic result can be
output as an error code: The triangular pictogram appears in the display. The error
code is displayed as a number between 2 and 99. A note text is displayed in the
bottom line.
Error codes can be taken from the error code table in the operating instructions. Er-
ror messages must be acknowledged via the i-OP. The connected soldering tool will
only be heated again, after the fault has been rectified and acknowledged.
9.2
General Errors
If the soldering station does not operate as expected, check the following ele-
ments:
18
– Is main voltage present? Correctly connect the mains lead to the device and
socket.
– Is the fuse defective? The fuse can be found at the rear side of the device in
the mains connecting socket.
Note that a defective fuse may also indicate an underlying cause of a fault.
Simply changing the fuse therefore generally does not suffice.
– Is the soldering tool correctly connected to the supply unit?
– The soldering station only displays the room temperature permanently.
The heating element or the supply line to the soldering iron is defective. Even
if the station is in idle mode, the room temperature is displayed after a few
minutes!
– The display is switched off and no longer shows anything, but the power
switch remains lit.
There is an overload on the soldering station. When the soldering station has
cooled down sufficiently (about 30 minutes), you can continue working.
