6.8.1.- Communication interface RS-232.
• The RS-232 interface is another communication system
of the INVERTER with the outside world. It consists of
series data transmission in such a way that we can
send a large amount of information through a
communications cable with only 3 or 5 lines.
Physical structure of the RS-232 communication
interface.
The RS-232 communication is supplied through
a female SUB-D9 connector where only pin 5 is occupied. It is possible to establish communication using only
the first three signals, and in this it is necessary to establish a bridge between RTS and CTS.
- Pin 2. RXD:
- Pin 3. TXD:
- Pin 1-5. . . . . GND: Signal mass.
- Pin 7. . . . . CTS:
- Pin 8. . . . . RTS:
The transmission speed may be programmed and may be 1200, 2400 or 4800 Bauds. The remaining parameters are
fixed.
- No. Information: 8 bits.
- No. Stop Bits: 1 Stop bit.
- Parity: NO.
Parity (None).
RS-232 communication protocol.
The communications protocol is of «MASTER/SLAVE» type. The computer system (»MASTER») asks for a
certain data and the INVERTER («SLAVE») immediately sends the reply data.
First of all, we program the computer communication channel with the same parameters as the communica-
tion channel of the unit. Before beginning communication, it is best to initialise the communication channel by
sending any sequence of 4 characters separated by one second. If we have any problem in mid communication,
it will be
best to repeat the channel initialisation sequence.
If you wish to use the RS-232 channel, ask for IN227*02 protocol, which gives details of the dialogue needed
for corrrect linking.
6.8.2.- Communication interface RS-485.
Physical of the RS-485 communication interface.
Unlike other serial communication links, this only uses 3 pleated lines (pins 4, 1-5 and 6 of the SUB-D9 female
connector), to establish the dialogue between the systems connected to the network. The communication will
be established by sending and receiving signals in differential mode, which makes the system highly immune
to noise and gives it a long range (approx. 500 m).
- Pin 4. . . . . Output signal A of the RS-485.
- Pin 6. . . . . Output signal B of the RS-485.
- Pin 1-5. . . . . Signal mass.
The communication parameters are fixed (not programmable) and are as follows:
- Speed: 4800 Baudios
- No. Information Bits: 8 bits.
- No. Stop Bits: 1 Stop Bit.
- Parity: NO.
Parity (None).
