3.2 Scope of delivery
Diamond core drilling machine (1) with ball valve and water connect nipple (1a), and operating instructions.
3.3 Noise emissions and vibration (EN 12348)

Convince yourself that the machine has not been damaged in transit. Check that the nominal voltage is the
same as the voltage indicated on the rating plate.
4.1 Electrical connection
Operate this machine only via a properly earthed 3-phase socked
(CEE 5 poles 3P+PE 16 A 6h - 400V, resp. NEMA L15-20, 3P+PE 20A - 250V).
When properly used, water doesn't enter the machine, so that the operation directly on the electrical mains
is possible. As, when the machine is demaged, the water protection is no longer guaranteed, we recommend
to use a RCD for saving the operator.
Please take care for a correct mains voltage. Incorrect mains voltage, like undervoltage, phase-
disconnection or unsymmetrical phase voltage decrease the power output considerable and can take to
irreparable demages of the motor.
4.2 Water connection
Connect the water to the water supply via the plug-in nipple.
Attention: max. water pressure 3 bar.
Please use a GARDENA coupling as the connecting piece to the machine. This can be obtained from a
garden centre or builders' merchant.
A water coupling of brass of high value can be received directly from WEKA.
Use only clean water, as dirty water will considerably disturb the heat exchange on the cooling surface and
thereby the motor can be totaly demaged. Else the seals wear out very quickly.
When water issues from leakage hole on the water supply bush, the seals are to be changed at once. This
is only to be done in an autorised prepare centre.
Attention: Under full power conditions are at least 1l water per minute required.
Open the water coupling after the operation, so that the cooling split can empty. This is espescially in cold
seasons very important because of danger of frost.
4.3 Fitting up in the core drill rig
The DK42 (B,E)/DK52 (E) is fastened at the gear foot (see illustration) with 4 M8 screws with the core drill rig
(2).
Choose these screws with a lenght of thread engagement of at least 15 mm and tighten them with
a torque of 20 Nm.
Place the machine only in a stable core drill rig which has precise guides which are free from clearance.
Ensure that the machine axis is absolutely parallel to the rig column.
Only use rigs with sufficient stability.
4.4 Mains switch - ON-OFF-button (1c) and integrated overcurrent protection DK42B/DK52
The DK42B/DK52 is directly thermal protected by a thermal switch in the stator windings. The load current
is switched by a contactor which is fixed in the switch case. On the top of the machine is the ON-OFF-button,
which is connected with the switch case via the cable.
If the motor is overloaded, the contactor switches off. Let the cooling keep on running, so that the motor is
able to cool fastly. In this case it is possible to switch the machine on already after 20 s.
4.5 Keyboard, LED display and motor protection DK42E/DK52E
The machine is protected against incorrect phase order or missing phases. It will not turn on until all phases
are available and correct phase order is established.
The machine will start with reduced torque to limit inrush current (partial softstart).
It will show status and error conditions according to follwing table:
