NOTICE
Hose nipples with a diameter of 63 mm are contained in the
scope of supply. Other sizes for the hose nipples must be
ordered separately (see chapter 10). Hoses and hose clips
are not included in the product's scope of supply.
1. Check the diameter of the hose connectors for the air inlet
and air outlet to confirm whether they can be connected to
the system (e.g. compressor). If the diameters are
different, the existing hose connectors must be removed.
An adapter must then be installed and the relevant hose
nipples with the desired diameter are screwed on.
2. Check that all 4 feet adhere to the base of the water
container. Otherwise, the DAP 5000 may wobble and
quickly topple over. Do not install and operate the
DAP 5000 without feet.
3. Place the water container on a flat surface (maximum 5 %
incline). Installation on an inclined surface with an incline
greater than 5 % or 3 ° is prohibited. Do not place water
containers more than 50 cm above the floor to enable easy
filling and draining of the container.
CAUTION
Do not overfill the water container, otherwise the air may only
be able to be drawn in with a very high resistance.
► Only fill the water up to the maximum mark on the fill level
indicator. Pour off excess water.
4. Fill the water container with water. The fill level can be
checked using the fill level indicator.
CAUTION
Read and follow the sterilisation tablet manufacturer's
instructions for use. In doing so, pay attention to parameters
such as dosage and contact time.
CAUTION
Use personal protective equipment, in particular gloves and
spectacles, when handling the sterilisation tablets.
Pay attention to the manufacturer's instructions on handling
the sterilisation tablets.
5. Add the sterilisation tablets to the water. In doing so,
observe the ratio of one tablet per 10 litres of water. The
dosage is performed as specified in the manufacturer's
instructions for use.
6. After 10 minutes, stir the water by appropriate means for
one minute. After a wait time of two hours, the water is
ready for use. During this wait time, the DAP 5000 can be
further assembled.
7. Check whether the profile gasket is positioned flush around
the top edge of the water container.
8. Place the lime container on the water container so that the
groove in the lime container engages cleanly with the water
container.
9. Place the filter mat on the grid in the lime container and
thread the bypass through the opening in the filter mat.
CAUTION
Read and follow the soda lime manufacturer's instructions for
use.
10. Carefully fill the lime container with 18 kg of Dive Sorb S
soda lime. Make sure that no soda lime enters the bypass
and falls into the water. Store the empty canister for the
subsequent disposal of the used soda lime.
11. Distribute the soda lime evenly in the lime container.
12. Place the filter mat on the Dive Sorb S soda lime and
thread the bypass through the opening in the filter mat.
13. Place the grid insert on the filter mat to act as a weight.
CAUTION
Risk of injury
The grid insert has very sharp edges.
► Always wear gloves when working with the grid inserts.
14. Check whether the profile gasket is positioned flush around
the top edge of the lime container.
15. Place the lid on the lime container and tighten using the two
tensioning straps on the lid and the handles on the water
container.
16. Connect the clean air hose to the connecting piece for the
air inlet and secure with the hose clips (not included in the
scope of supply).
17. Connect the hose for the compressor to the connecting
piece for the air outlet and secure with the hose clips (not
included in the scope of supply). The hose length to the
compressor must not exceed 3 m.
CAUTION
Pay attention to the intake pressure ahead of the compressor.
Pay attention to the permitted pressure range of the DAP 5000
(see chapter 9). Pay attention to the limit values in the
compressor's instructions for use.
► A prohibited increase in the intake resistance, e.g. due to
installations in the lines, may damage the DAP 5000 or
the compressor.
18. When commissioning, check the differential pressure to the
environment in the hose ahead of the compressor.
4.2
Preparations for use
1. Check the water level and refill if necessary (see chapter
6.2.1). If the water level is below the minimum mark, the
entire water supply must be replaced and filled to the
maximum mark. Add a sterilisation tablet(s) to the water
during every refill process, depending on how much water
is added (approx. one sterilisation tablet per 10 litres of
water, depending on the manufacturer).
4.3
During use
1. Pay attention to the environmental conditions and do not
exceed the maximum daily operating time (see chapter 9).
2. The soda lime must be replaced as soon as the CO
concentration of the compressed breathing air after the
compressor exceeds the limit value (see chapter 6.2.2).
