Bench mounting
1. Push-fit the Vibration Dampeners to the underside of the Bench Mounting Holes (1)
2. Using the Bench Mounting Holes, secure the bench planer to a sturdy flat work surface with
appropriate fasteners (not provided)
Table calibration
1. Place a spirit level (not provided) or similar, flat on the Outfeed Table (2) over the
Blade Drum (3) (Image A)
2. Turn the Cutting Depth Adjustment Knob (8) clockwise to raise the Infeed Table (4) (lower
cutting depth), or anti-clockwise to lower the table (increase cutting depth), aligning the
Infeed Table with the Outfeed Table
3. Once the two tables are aligned, check the Cutting Depth Indicator (7) is aligned with the '0'
on the cutting depth scale. If the indicator is not aligned, loosen the Phillips head screw
securing the indicator, and align with '0' (Image B)
Fence installation
1. Align the Fence Bracket (19) with the Fence Bracket Mount (14) and loosely secure in place,
using the provided bolts (Image C)

the outside of the Fence Brackets
3. Install the Coach Bolts (18) loosely from the outside. The Fence Securing Arms are used to
secure the Coach Bolts whilst fastening (Image D)
• Calibrating the Guide Fence:
1. Using a pair of engineers' squares, place one on the table surface (horizontal alignment) with
the second against the Guide Fence (vertical alignment) (Image E)
2. Ensure the Guide Fence is square to the table surface and fasten the Fence Bracket, followed
by the Coach Bolts
Blade cover installation
Note: The Blade Cover (25) also acts as a guide for the workpiece. Use the Blade Cover to secure
your workpiece against the Guide Fence (23).
1. Remove the upper half of the Blade Cover Holder (5) using a Phillips head screwdriver
(not provided)
2. Place the Blade Cover into the Blade Cover Holder and reinstall the upper half of the

WARNING: Keep hands and fingers away from the Blade Drum (3). When feeding a workpiece
in close proximity to the Blade Drum, always use a push-stick or pressure pad.
WARNING: If the Blade Drum stops during the cutting process, immediately switch off the
power. Do not restart the tool partway through making a cut, and do not attempt to make partial
cuts to the workpiece.
WARNING: Always store the push-stick within easily accessible reach when operating the
bench planer.
• With the machine off, adjust the Blade Cover (25) to rest lightly on the top of the workpiece
• Start the machine and wait for the Blade Drum to reach full operating speed before
commencing the cut
• Slowly feed the workpiece from the Infeed Table (4) through the blade
• Use a push-stick to feed the workpiece in close proximity to the Blade Drum
• When the cutting procedure has finished, turn off the machine and wait for the Blade Drum to
stop revolving before removing the workpiece
• For a smooth finish, make multiple passes with a smaller cutting depth until the desired amount
of material has been removed
