7.2 REPLACING THE BLADE
Remove the battery pack and ensure that the hedge trimmer has completely
stopped before performing maintenance or inspecting your hedge trimmer for
damages.
Do not touch the blade with your hands directly. Wear gloves or wrap the bar in a
thick cloth.
NOTE: Always use the specified model recommended by the manufacturer when replacing parts.
To remove the worn blade:
1.
Stop the motor and remove the battery pack. Wait until the blade has stopped.
2.
Adjust the blade to the horizontal position (0°), ensuring that the blade assembly is
in line with the hedge trimmer shaft, and put the gearbox cover upwards (Fig. 6A).
3.
Loosen the 6 short screws in the gearbox cover with a 4mm hex wrench (not included)
and store them for re-assembly.
4.
Support the end of the blade and loosen the 2 long screws, then remove the wool felt,
pressing plate, and two gaskets for re-assembly.
5.
Remove the bearing and lining plate under the gearbox cover and store them for re-assembly.
6.
Carefully remove the connecting rod from the blade.
7.
Remove the blade assembly from the tool and replace it with a new one.
To assemble a new blade:
1.
Align the two holes in the new blade assembly with the screw hole inside the gearbox assembly.
2.
Mount the two gaskets, pressing plate, and wool felt into place as Fig.5B shows.
3.
Keep the holes in the blade, the gaskets, the holes in the pressing plate, and the wool
felt in line with the screw holes in the gear case. Install the 2 long screws into the
aligned holes and tighten them securely (Fig.6B).
4.
Check whether the blade can move freely.
5.
Align the connecting rod with the rivet in the blade and install the connecting rod into
place. (Fig.6C).
6.
Align the hole of the lining plate and bearing with the bulge in the cam, ensuring that
the plate is exactly located in the center, parallel to both edges.
7.
Mount the gearbox cover onto the gear case and secure it with 6 short screws (Fig. 6C).
8.
Start the hedge trimmer to check whether the hedge trimmer can work normally. If it
does not, reassemble following the above steps.
