Manual Alpine Muffy Baby
Alpine Muffy Baby is a hearing protector
especially designed for babies and small
children from 1 year old. They offer enough
protection against harmful influences of noise.
Any other usage is not allowed and is not in
accordance to regulations.
Noise entails risks of damaging the hearing
in such a way that the auditory ability will be
considerably diminished. Damages of that kind
are irreparable and people suffer their whole
life from this disability. This hearing protector
will protect against loud noise if being used
correctly, provided that the ear defenders sit
correctly over the ears so that the pads can
enclose and seal the ear.
Attention: Hairs and temples diminish the
insulating property. The hearing protection
should always and perpetually be worn in
loud environments. Therefore, it is of high
significance to pay attention to the ear
defenders to not slip out of position. Toddlers
need to be continuously observed, as the
circumstances may require adjusting the ear
defenders again.
Basically, it is advised to not take children to
events where loud noise occurs, like car and
motor races or music festivals. Especially
children who cannot check and adjust the
hearing protection's proper fit themselves
should not be taken to these kinds of events.
Always use the earmuff under adult
supervision. Never leave your child
unattended, not even for a short time. Make
sure you always have visibility on your child,
check the position of the earmuffs and the
comfort of your child regularly.
The hearing of small children is very
vulnerable. Loud noise and music can cause
permanent hearing damage. Because of this,
keep small children as much as possible away
from situations and spaces with a lot of noise.
Make sure to always wear the earmuffs in
noisy environments.
Excessive usage time can have adverse
long term effects, e.g. due to the pressure
on the head. Wear the Muffy Baby for a
maximum of 90 minutes without a break, and
approximately 3 hours per day in total.
When adjusting the headband, make sure it
fits snugly but not too tight. The headband
should keep the muffs in place, do not make it
any tighter than needed. The heads of babies
younger than 18 months are vulnerable
because of the not yet closed fontanelles.
The muffs should be placed onto the ears
directly, without any obstructions (e.g. a hat).
Check your child regularly to see if the muffs
enclose the ears properly. Make sure the muffs
stay in place.
Beware of the risk of pulling/sliding away,
make sure the Muffy Baby never covers the
mouth and/or nose.
Keep an eye on your child at all times to see if
he/she is comfortable.
Do not let your child play with
the Muffy Baby or stick parts of it in the mouth,
it is not a toy. Don't let the child pull the inside
foam out of the muffs and swallow it.
Check the earmuffs regularly to ensure they are
in proper working condition and store them
in their original clean packaging. Earmuffs, in
particular cushions, may deteriorate with use
and should be examined at frequent intervals
for cracking and leakage, for example.
The fitting of hygiene covers to the cushions
may affect the acoustic performance of the
earmuffs.
Please note: Always ensure adult supervision
when used.
Material: Cover made from ABS, padding
made from PVC+PU, headband made from
polyester.
Weight: 108 grams.
Does not contain any metal parts.
Clean the earmuffs with a damp cloth with
lukewarm water and mild soap. Only soaps
may be used that are not known to be harmful
to the wearer. The headband can be washed in
the washing machine.
The product may be adversely affected by
certain chemical substances. Refer to the
manufacturer for further information. Service
life of earmuff is 5 years from manufacturing
date. The manufacturing date can be found
in earmuff under the foam. The stated life
of the product is only an indication. The life
of the product depends on many external
and uncontrollable factors and should not be
considered a warranty.
When this device is worn as directed, the
level of noise entering a person's ear is
approximated by the differences between
the A-weighted environmental noise level
and the lesser and greater NRRs. Caution:
For predominantly low frequency noise
environments in which the difference in
the measured C-weighted and A-weighted
noise levels (dBCdBA) exceeds 3 dB, the
user is directed to the enclosed graph of
the variability of noise reduction with noise
