Preparing of Installation
Read these instructions completely and carefully.
Door Removal
CAUTION
LIFTING HAZARD
The door is heavy. Use both hands to secure the door
before lifting.
CAUTION
HINGE SPRING UNDER TENSION
If it is necessary to remove the door, follow these steps:
Disconnect the power before you do following steps.
1. R emove the lower part of the hinge cover and then
remove the upper part.
For 16 Cu-Ft and 22 Cu-Ft model, you need 3 (or 4 for
22 Cu-ft) 3/32" or 5/64" Allen Wrenches or pocket screw
drives to lock the hinges in position.
2. K eep lid closed. Insert Allen Wrenches through hinge
hole on all hinges to take tension off spring so that the
hinge stays in its original position.
3. Keep Allen Wrenches in position. Remove 4 screws
from the upper part of the hinge.

4. D isconnect wire from multi-terminal connector in
machine compartment. Remove the door.
5. Reinstall door follow steps in reverse. Tighten all
hinge screws but avoid over-tightening to prevent
stripping. Reinstall hinge covers.
For 18 Cu-ft follow below steps.
1. O pen door to its maximum position so that the hinge
spring is at the lowest tension."
2. L oosen, do not remove, the four Phillips screws
located in the lower hinge area that are mounted to
the cabinet.
CAUTION: The door is bulky and heavy.
Raise/lift the door until the screws align with the larger
slotted openings in the bottom of the hinge.
3. Detach the door hinge from Cabinet. Lay the door
down on cabinet. Disconnect the wire from multi-
terminal connector in machine compartment and
remove the door.
4. Reinstall door follow steps in reverse. Tighten all hinge
screws but avoid over-tightening to prevent stripping.
Reinstall hinge covers.
