Use of an extension cable not suitable for the power input
of the tool or which is damaged or defective may result in
a risk of fire and electric shock.
Features
This tool includes some or all of the following features.
1. Planing depth adjustment knob
2. Shavings discharge outlet
3. Lock-off button
4. On/off switch
5. Rear base plate
6. Belt cover
7. Parking rest
8. Front base plate
Assembly
Warning! Before assembly, make sure that the tool is
switched off and unplugged.
Replacing the cutting blades (Fig. A)
The cutting blades provided with this tool are reversible.
Replacement cutting blades can be obtained from your local
retailer.
Removing
Loosen the bolts (24) using spanner provided.
u
Push down and hold down the rebating Guard (9) whilst
u
sliding the Knife Block from the Barrel.
Slide the Blade from the Knife Block, being careful as
u
Blades are sharp.
Rotate the Blade and slide back into the Knife Block so
u
that sharp edge is protruding from the Knife Block.
Note: the Blade has a groove along its length on one side to
ensure correct orientation into Knife Block.
If both sides of the Blade are worn, the blade must be
u
replaced.
Fitting
Push down and hold down the rebating Guard whilst
u
sliding the Knife Block into the Barrel.
Ensure the Knife Block is central in Barrel and tighten the
u
Bolts securely using the Spanner.
Adjusting the depth of cut (Fig. B)
The depth of cut is indicated by the marking (1b).
The setting range can be read from the graduation (1a).
Turn the planing depth adjustment knob (1) to the required
u
depth of cut.
Turn the knob to the '0' position whenever the tool is not in
u
use.
Fitting and removing the parallel fence (Fig. C)
The parallel fence is used to for optimum control on narrow
workpieces and when Rebating (Fig. F).

Assembling the parallel fence
Locate right angle bracket (18) onto fence (19) (Fig. C).
u
Place bolt through (20) bracket and fence, and thread
wing nut (21) to bolt.
Locate bracket to front side of the planer and thread
u
securing bolt (10) into the hole, securely tighten.
Loosen the parallel fence wing nut (21).
u
Slide the parallel fence into the desired position.
u
Securely tighten the parallel fence wing nut (21).
u
Note: The parallel fence should be below the planer when
installed correctly.
To remove the parallel fence proceed in reverse order.
u
Fitting and removing the depth guide (Fig C1)
Locate the depth guide (22) to front right of the Planer and
u
thread securing bolt (23) into the hole, securely tighten.
Loosen the securing bolt and adjust guide up or down as
u
required.
Securely re-tighten the securing bolt.
u
To remove the guide proceed in reverse order.
u
Connecting a vacuum cleaner to the tool (Fig. D)
Connect the vacuum cleaner hose (12) to the shavings
u
discharge outlet. If the vacuum cleaner hose does not fit
the shavings discharge outlet then an adaptor (11) may be
required.
Fitting the shavings collection bag (Fig. E)
The shavings collection bag is particularly useful when
working in confined spaces.
Slide the connection (25) of the bag over the shavings
u
discharge outlet (2).
Emptying the shavings collection bag
The shavings collection bag should be emptied regularly while
using it to prevent blocking.
Unzip the bag and empty it before continuing.
u

Warning! Let the tool work at its own pace. Do not overload.
Switching on and off
Switching on
Keep the lock-off button (3) depressed and press the on/
u
off switch (4).
Release the lock-off button.
u
Switching off
Release the on/off switch.
