Cleaning
1. Allow equipment to cool completely before storing it.
2. Use a damp cloth to clean the external surfaces of the shredder.
3. Use a soft brush to clean off dirt and oil.
4. If you prefer, you can opt to use an air compressor to clean the dirt and debris from the shredder.
Check all air outlets and cooling slots to ensure they are clean and unobstructed.
Storage
Follow the next steps to prepare your shredder for storage.
1. Completely drain all fuel from the fuel hose and carburetor to prevent clogs from forming.
2. Turn off the fuel supply at the fuel registration.
3. Remove the spark plug and pour about 15 ml of oil into the cylinder. Start the engine slowly to
distribute the oil and lubricate the cylinder.
4. Store the shredder in a clean, dry location. Do not store near corrosive materials, such as fertilizers.
Engine care
Below is a list of engine maintenance tasks that are necessary for the shredder to perform well.
• The oil level must be maintained exactly according to the marking on the dipstick [Fig. 18, page 20].
• Clean the air filter as indicated in the manual. Clean every two to three hours if you are using your
shredder in extremely dusty areas. Poor engine performance usually indicates that it is time to clean
the air filter. See manual for air filter cleaning instructions [page 21].
• Clean the engine regularly with a cloth or brush. The top of the engine must always be clean to allow
proper air circulation. Remove all dirt, debris and combustibles from the muffler area.
• Do not store the equipment with gasoline in the tank for more than 30 days. Engines stored with
gasoline for more than 30 days may deteriorate and form gum in the fuel system or in essential parts
of the carburetor.
Inspect the shredder before using it and check if there are any tools or objects inside the grain
funnel or green product chute.
• Never operate the shredder with the closing cover open.
• Check that the counter blade is properly adjusted and fixed. Always, after a stronger impact, retighten
the shredder screws, especially those on the counter blade.
• Keep children and animals away from the equipment when it is in operation.
• Do not allow inexperienced people to operate the shredder without first reading the instruction manual.
• Do not use the shredder for purposes other than those specified in this manual.
• It is recommended that the replacement parts be of the same Tramontina model and brand.
• Stay in place while the shredder is in the working condition, never leave it on.
• While working, always wear closed-toe shoes and the use of safety glasses.
• The place where the machine will be installed must have a clean and even floor, free from grease,
oil, chips, undulations and slopes, etc. The circulation area and space around the machine must be
unobstructed and allow safe movement of the operator and material.
