7 Fitting Advice
The instructions in this section are for practitioner use only.
Avoid extremes of alignment.
Align according to the Instructions for Use supplied with the interfacing componentry.
Adjust the relative positions of components to achieve a comfortable, stable standing position
and in conjunction with optomisation of other components' a comfortable, stable gait.
Adjust the alignment (A-P slide, rotation and angulation) in
combination with interfacing devices properly accommodate
flexion, adduction or abduction. Ensure that the wearer can
stand in a stable position with the heel and toe evenly loaded.
Build Line
The device should be positioned and adjusted to achieve
the optimal relative positions (as per manufacturers
recommendations) of the various elements of the prosthetic
limb build. For optimal/minimal loading the device should be
positioned such that the build line is as close as practical to the
centre of the device without being at the extremes of angular
adjustment.
Symptom
A recurring noise
occurs at the device.
The adapter moves
out of position.
Solution
Check the proximal and
distal attachments are
secure. Tighten according to
Construction (section 3) for
distal end and in accordance
with proximal attachment
instructions.
User must not use the device
until adjusted repaired or
replaced.
