AREA OF APPLICATION
The CATCH screw-in tool was developed for fast, safe and
effortless insertion of long wood screws using a power drill. With
the CATCH, vertical screw connections and connections under a
helix angle are possible. The screw head is held firmly in the tool so
that the bit cannot slip off the shaft.
The user is solely liable for damage caused by improper use.
Generally recognised accident prevention regulations must
be observed. Familiarise yourself as well with the operating
instructions for the power tools in which you insert the screw-in
tool.
COMMISSIONING AND WORKING INSTRUCTIONS
• Fit and adjust bit (3) (TX40, 50 mm long, hexagon 1/4"):
• for Ø 8 (HBS) and Ø 9 (VGS) countersunk screws
set bit (3) with a L = 25 mm protrusion (A)
• for cylinder head screws Ø 9 (VGZ) set bit (3) to protrude
L = 23.5 mm from the CATCH. To do so, turn the inner axial
set screw (6) with an SW3 Allen key (B). As soon as the desired
protrusion is reached, tighten the bit firmly with the clamping
screws (5). After approx. 100 uses, tighten the clamping screws
(5).
• Place the screw on the bit (3), push the holder (4) forward and
lock the screw-in tool with the screw head (C + D).
• Make sure it is tightly locked. The outer sleeve must not protrude
beyond the end of the holder (4) (E + F).
• Insert the screw vertically or at an angle. No axial pressure needs
to be applied to the screw after insertion; only the torque has to
be maintained. As soon as the screw-in tool touches the working
surface, the holder (4) is released automatically from the screw
head to provide a clear view of the insertion location (G + H).
Axial pressure must then be applied to the screw.
• Insert the screw to the desired depth (I).
• Reconfigure the screw-in tool to suit a different screw head (see
above).

6. Adjusting screw
FAULT- FIXING
• Screw-in tool cannot lock onto screw head
• Clamping screw (5) is beyond the OD of the shaft (1); tighten
clamping screw (5).
• Check screw and only use the previously mentioned types
• Check bit and use only Rothoblaas Bit TX 4050.
• Fit the bit to suit the screw head installation dimensions (see
above).
• Bit moves out of the screw head, despite being locked
• Correct the axial position of the bit and set it to the correct
protrusion.
• Check screw and only use the previously mentioned types
• Check bit and use only Rothoblaas Bit TX 4050.
SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
In order to avoid personal injury and physical damage, observe the
following instructions:
• ensure you have a firm footing
• only operate the machine with both hands
• wear protective equipment (hearing protection, protective
goggles, protective gloves, etc.)
• use only cordless drills without on/off lock and with an auxiliary
handle
• CATCH is only suitable for a maximum torque up to 65 Nm
• clamp the screw-in tool firmly into the drill and ensure that it is
tightly locked on the screw head
CARE AND MAINTENANCE
• Clean and store the screw-in tool dry after use.
• Keep screw insertion end clean.
• Lubricate moving parts regularly with dry lubricating spray.
