2 standard 1.5 Volt-AA type dry batteries (Mignon cells) are

Draw and open cover 1 as shown in fig. A. Insert batteries according
to diagram

shoe: Push foot 2 into this shoe.
Flashing with synchronizing cord for cameras with flash outlet
socket: Push flash unit into accessory shoe of camera or flash
