Extension Lanyard
This extension lanyard shall be conformed to EN 354:2010. Users should read and understand the following information before
use.
This extension lanyard permanently attached to the harness dorsal attachment, it can restraint the user to enter the area that
occur fall hazards.
The extension lanyard is not used for fall arrest unless equipped with an energy absorber that complies with EN 355:2002.
The extension lanyard includes connector and dorsal D-ring and energy absorber, this total length shall not exceed 2 m.
If the risk assessment carried out before the start of work shows that loading in the case of a use over an edge is possible,
protective sleeves should be used to wrap the lanyard to prevent abrasion.
Harsh environments such as extremes of temperature (<-40℃, >54℃), chemical reagents, sharp edges, electrical
conductivity, abrasion surface can reduce the life expectancy of the lanyard, it should be kept away from these when using.
Connector
If the extension lanyard requires connectors to connect, it shall be complied with EN 362:2004.
Pay attention that the wire diameter of the anchor point attachment shall not exceed the gate opening of the connector.
If the connector on the extension lanyard is manual locking gate, that is only be used where the user does not have to attach
and remove frequently, e.g. five times during a working day.
The length of the connector in the fall arrest system must be considered because it will affect the fall distance.
Avoid to the following situations that may reduce the strength of the connector: Connecting to wide straps - width greater than
60 mm
Low temperature conditions - temperature below - 40℃
Webbing/Thread: 100% polyester, breaking tenacity at least 0.6 N/tex
Buckle: Alloy steel
Back Pad/Belt Keeper/Lanyard Storage Keeper: PE plastic
