Instruction Manual
Safety in the Use of Cordless
Tools and Electric Chargers
a) Charge batteries only with chargers recommended
by the manufacturer. The use of improper chargers that
are not recommended by the manufacturer can be a fire
hazard.
b) Always use the tool with proper batteries. The use
of other batteries that are not recommended by the
manufacturer can cause explosions and be a fire hazard.
c) Keep a battery that is not being used away from
metal parts that can make contact between the battery
positive and negative terminals. A short-circuit between
the contacts can cause explosions, burns, and fire.
d) In case of incorrect use, a leak of battery liquid
could occur. In case of accidental contact with the
liquid, wash the area with water. If the liquid comes into
contact with the eyes, see a doctor as soon as possible.
The battery liquid can cause irritation and burns.
e) Do not open the tool battery and the electric charger.
There are risks of accidents, explosions, and electrical
shock.
f) Do not expose the batteries to intense heat, water or
humidity. That can affect the insulation of the internal
cells, causing battery liquid leakage or a short-circuit.
Maintenance Service
a) Your electric tool should only be repaired by
specialized personnel and original parts should always
be used. That ensures equipment safety.
Drill/Driver Specific Safety
Instructions
The following instructions are for drilling work. Fully
read them before using the tool in order to reduce the
risk of accidents.
a) Use earplugs during the drilling work. Being exposed
to high noises can cause hearing loss.
42383/216 - 12 V Cordless Drill
b) Use the auxiliary handle, when available. Losing
control can cause accidents.
c) Hold the drill by its insulated surfaces when using
it at places that can touch electrical wiring or even
the equipment's power cord. If cutting tools come
into contact with live electrical wiring, they can cause
electrical shock to the operator.
d) Firmly fit and fasten the bit to the drill's chuck
before using it.
e) Before powering on the drill, make sure the bit is not
touching other objects. When the drill is on, never touch
the bit, even when wearing protective gloves.
f) Do not touch the bit after drilling, since it can be hot
and can cause injuries to the operator's hands.
Information on Lithium Batteries
and the Electric Charger
- The drill/driver comes with one 1.3 Ah Lithium-Ion
battery.
- The Lithium-Ion batteries have a special technology
with no memory effect. They can be recharged at any time
without damaging the internal cells. It has a more stable
charge than conventional batteries and its capacity loss is
low, providing great performance while being used.
- The dual voltage charger (100–240 Vac) is a fast charge
model, allowing greater flexibility while in use.
- The batteries' service life and performance can be
increased if they are charged when the temperature is
between 18 °C and 24 °C (64 °F and 75 °F).
Do not charge the battery in extreme temperatures:
below 0 °C (32 °F) and above 40 °C (104 °F).
- Batteries should not be discarded with household
garbage nor thrown into the fire or water.
Batteries should be collected, recycled or discarded in an
eco-friendly way. For more information, please contact
Tramontina Technical Support.
